Teaching preparation;
A tape recorder, multimedia and some pictures
Teaching Procedures:
Step I Revision
Greet the class as usual and practice some sentences.
Step II Presentation
Teach Activity 1a.
First, show some pictures of places of interests on the screen. Ask students to say what places they are.
Then, lead students to read the names of places of interests and know their meanings.
Divide students into pairs to make conversations about the pictures.
Step III Listening
1. Teach Activity 1b
Give students one minute to read the questions. After that, play the tape for students to listen.
2. Teach Activity 1c.
Lead students to have a look at the items to know what to do in this activity.
Tell them to listen the tape carefully again, take notes to fill in the blanks.
Later, please students read the listening material.
Step IV Consolidation
Teach Activity 1d
Give students enough time to talk about the places they have been to.
Finally, invite several pairs to practice their conversations.
Step V Summary
In this class, we talked about some places of interests of China, which enriched our vocabulary and aroused the love to our country. And then we went on with the task, using the target language in the form of listening and speaking.
