Many wealthy and well traveled people want a completely new experience, but they don't necessarily want to give up luxury accommodations and service. The following vacations could be best choices.
Cruise down the Amazon River
Aqua Expeditions takes up to 32 passengers at a time on guided journeys of three, four, or seven days down the Amazon River. Those adventurers see forests and waterfalls, visit local fish markets, and take canoe trips. They also take in wildlife such as capuchin monkeys and river dolphins.
Go Glamping in Montana
The Resort at Paws Up located on a cattle ranch (牧场) is a standout in the type. The ranch rents homes with up to four bedrooms, but it's the luxury tents that offer closer communion with the outdoors. Tents are arranged into camps, each of which has a private chef and butler, the latter of whom helps build campfires and arrange daytime activities. Guests can participate in a cattle drive, go clay shooting, take a hot air balloon trip, or ride horses.
Climb inside a Volcano in Iceland
Iceland is famous for its volcanoes and has plenty of luxury hotel options. Thrill seekers can actually go down into the dormant (休眠的), 700 foot deep Thrihnukagigur, by using an open elevator. Take a helicopter if you want to skip the 2 mile hike to the volcano, and arrange a private tour to avoid crowds. When he was 22, Rob Stewart traveled the world for four years. He wanted to call attention to the mistreatment of sharks. His 2007 film, Sharkwater, documents the cruel practice of removing sharks' fins (鳍) for money and leaving the animals to die. In his latest documentary, Revolution, Stewart takes on an even bigger challenge: climate change.
The Canadian filmmaker says that climate change has harmed people and places everywhere: “It is stronger than any government or organization. If we educate people, they will make better decisions about protecting natural resources.”
According to a recent report on climate change, “The atmosphere and ocean have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have reduced, and the sea levels have risen.” These developments are endangering crops, wildlife, fish, and even people.
Stewart says that the consequences of climate change will be irreversible unless people take action, especially young people. “It's up to kids to be the moral compass (道德指南) of society,” he believes, “and say, ‘Guys, this is not right.’”
Many kids took action after seeing Sharkwater. Elementary school students in the Northern Mariana Islands, for example, got their local government to ban the sale of shark fins.
Felix Finkbeiner, 17, of Germany is also part of the “revolution” to save the planet. In 2007, Felix started a youth group called Plant for the Planet, whose motto is “Stop Talking. Start Planting.” The group raises money to plant trees. So far, Plant?for?the?Planet has planted nearly 200 trees around the world. “Future generations are the ones who will be suffering the most from inaction (无作为),” Felix says. His goal is to plant millions of additional trees.
“When we started four years ago,” Felix tells Stewart in Revolution, “we thought we had to save the polar bear. We thought we had to save the environment. But soon after, we found out that it's about our future, that we have to save our own future.”

Farmers have long relied on things that work without their involvement — bees to pollinate (授粉) flowers, earthworms (蚯蚓) to turn the soil, swallows to eat pests — to make sure that crops grow the right way.Now a team of British researchers is trying to take this hands off thinking in a high tech direction.Last October, scientists at Harper Adams University started a farm called the Hands Free Hectare to make the entire process of farming — from sowing and fertilizing to harvest — fully automatic. The project has just succeeded with five tons of robot grown barley (大麦).
“We believe the best idea is that in the future, farmers will manage groups of smaller, autonomous machines,” the researchers explained.“They will go out and work in the fields, allowing farmers to use their time more effectively instead of having to drive up and down the fields.”
At the moment, agricultural machines — very large and heavy — can cover a lot of space quickly. But there are shortcomings.“Fertilizer gets sprayed over entire farms, regardless of the different needs of different crops. They're also so heavy that they're damaging farmers' soils,” researcher Jonathan Gill said.
Gill and his colleagues went smaller: a tractor, a combine and a harvester, which followed a programmed route, using GPS.Altogether, they spent less than £200,000 on equipment, and used open source technology and a drone (无人机).Eventually the system will be complex enough to treat different parts of a field, or even individual plants, differently.
The team is quick to caution that they don't want to put farmers out of work. They said, “Instead of being busy in the fields, the farmer will manage the machines and monitor their crops.” The next stop for the barley will be a brewery. That's not going to be completely automatic. At least not yet.
8.What feature of bees, earthworms and swallows inspired scientists
A.Their dependence on nature.
B.Their special way of survival.
C.Their selfless love for the earth.
D.Their natural involvement in farming.
9.What advantage of Gill's equipment is introduced in Para.4
A.Freeing workers totally.
B.Reducing the cost of harvest.
C.Improving the accuracy of farming.
D.Increasing the output of different crops.
10.What can we infer from the last paragraph
A.Gill's project is still at the design stage.
B.Unemployment wouldn't be a concern.
C.The brewery will realize automation soon.
D.Complete automatic farming is unrealistic.
11.Which of the following would be the best title for the text
A.The future of hands free farming
B.The functions of agricultural machines
C.The development of automatic harvest
D.The shortcomings of traditional farming

For many years, people have watched wild animals doing tricks in circuses and marine parks. Elephants parade around a noisy arena. They impress the crowd with tricks they have been forced to learn — things they'd never do in the wild.
At marine parks, orca whales — measuring up to 25 feet long and weighing thousands of pounds — splash (溅出水花) out of the water and do amazing tricks, drawing cheers from the audience.
Sure, it's fun to watch these wild animals up close — but many people wonder if it's really fair to the animals After all, an orca whale in the wild has the entire ocean as a home. They live in family groups and may travel 100 miles in a day. Is living alone swimming around in circles in a small pool a good life for an orca
In the wild, elephants also live in close family groups. They travel long distances to find food. They're very smart and look after each other and play together — things they can't do as circus performers.
Today, more and more people are saying that things should change. They believe the animals deserve to live a more natural life and not be used for entertainment. And now some companies are beginning to listen.
In March 2015, Ringling Bros, and Barnum and Bailey announced that they would no longer use elephant acts in their circuses. And on May 1, 2016, the elephants performed their last show, signaling an end to a long history of elephants in circuses and traveling shows.
A year after the Ringling announcement, SeaWorld Theme Parks promised to give the orcas in their parks a better life as well. The company announced that it would begin to phase_out shows featuring orcas performing tricks. Instead, they will highlight (突出) more of the whales' natural behaviors. SeaWorld also said they wouldn't add any more captive (被俘的) orcas to their parks.
These are first steps toward putting an end to using captive wildlife for entertainment. And these changes were made after many people spoke out loud and clear to say that wild animals deserve to live wild and free.
12.Why does the author mention elephants and orca whales in the first two paragraphs
A.To introduce the subject.
B.To show they are very smart.
C.To stress the great fun they bring us.
D.To encourage readers to watch animal shows.
13.What does the author say about circus animal performers
A.They are well treated.
B.They lead an unnatural life.
C.They are relaxed and carefree.
D.They compete with each other.
14.What does the underlined part “phase out” in Paragraph 7 mean
A.Put on. B.Figure out.
C.Gradually stop. D.Creatively improve.
15.What would be the best title for the text
A.Last chance for animals
B.Tons of fun: not for everyone
C.The welfare of wild animals in circuses
D.The state of entertainment: disappearing acts

Each year, many animal species die out. They join the countless species that have gone extinct (灭绝的) over the course of the earth's history and many people believe they disappear forever.__16__
Now some scientists are focusing on the ability to bring back extinct species. This doesn't mean the plot of Jurassic Park is going to become a reality. The researchers need DNA to clone a species.__17__ Dinosaurs have been gone too long for any of their DNA to remain in fossils (化石).
But there's a very real chance that we will be able to bring back more recently extinct species. __18__ In 2003, a team of Spanish and French scientists recreated the Pyrenean ibex, which had gone extinct three years earlier. The new animal didn't survive long, but scientific advances could improve the success rate. In January, Australian scientists announced that they were on their way to bringing back the gastric brooding frog.
That we can bring species back doesn't mean that we should do that. There may be much benefit of reviving (使复生) a species, but there's no way to know how it will turn out. __19__ Or might it crowd out existing species Environmentalists worry that our ability to bring species back might cut down support for the hard work of traditional conservation.
__20__ If we can correct our mistake, why not use the chance to do that As Stewart Brand, a businessman and environmentalist, recently said,“Humans have made a huge hole in nature. We have the ability now to repair some of that damage.”
A.DNA is the chemical that carries the structure of a living thing.
B.In addition, most people think that the extinction of some animals is really humans' mistake.
C.However, some people argue that the extinction of some animals is really our mistake.
D.This could even include Ice Age animals like the woolly mammoth.
E.However, you might need to redefine (重新定义) “forever”.
F.This could even be true to dinosaurs that were extinct long ago.
G.For example, would a passenger pigeon fit into its old habitat (栖息地)
