What does “Phonics” mean
Why we need to teach PHONICS
The Huge Difference Between Mandarin and English
(Logography and Orthography)
Asian EFL Learners who are used to learn a new word by a whole word approach and consider every word a logo will be frustrated in learning an orthography language. (eg. dog
Phonics can help them to build another language system in their cognitive structure.
They learn to know new words orally and have some strategies for guessing how to read or spell them.
Phonics could bridge our kids to read and help them enjoy the pleasure of reading.
Phonics & KK
How we began to learn English
Phonics can be taught with KK; sometimes they are nearly the same.
