1、教学内容
本节课教学内容为新目标英语Go For It 七年级下册第五单元Section B的短文,主要话题是Animals( 动物),功能项目是Describe animals and express preferences.
二、教学目标
1. 知识目标:
学生能正确认读,理解以下词汇及短语: save, flag, forget, place, water, danger, tree, kill, over ,get lost, be in (great) danger, cut down, (be) made of, one of, a symbol of.
2. 能力目标:1).学生能通过快速阅读提高归纳语篇主题的能力. 2).学生能熟练运用构建思维导图的阅读策略。
3. 情感目标:学生能够获悉大象在泰国的相关文化和大象的现实处境,并唤起学生珍惜并保护濒危动物的意识。
三、教学重难点
1. 教学重点:本课中的重点词汇及句型。
2. 教学难点:通过阅读训练,提高学生们的综合阅读能力。
四、教学方法
任务型教学法和小组合作教学法。

七、教学过程
Step1 Warming up and leading in
1). Review: Free talk
Each group talks about an animal. The leader takes notes and gives a talk.
2). Lead in.
Watch a video about elephants,then invite students to tell out their thoughts and feelings. .
【教学设计意图】学生通过Free talk和谈论视频,激发了兴趣, 打开了嘴巴,轻松的进入英语学习的氛围中。
一方面复习描述动物的形容词,另一方面引导学生思考哪些动物处境濒危,为进一步学习奠定基础。
Step2 Pre- reading.
1). Let students know these facts about elephants by showing some pictures: Elephants are from Thailand and they are important in Thailand.
2). Let students know the elephants are in great danger , because people cut down many trees and kill them for ivory. People should save the elephants.
【教学设计意图】图片教学法是呈现新知识最简单有效的方法之一。学生通过图片学习本课重要词汇及句型,为阅读活动扫清词汇障碍。
Step3 While-Reading.
1). Listening
Lead in the website article , let students listen and find the best title for it (Let’s Save the Elephants.).
Show the students the learning strategy: “Listen and get the key words”.
【教学设计意图】通过听的任务既可以检测学生对新知识的理解和接受程度,又可以训练学生的听力技能。
2).Fast -reading .
Let students read the article carefully and match the main ideas with paragraphs. Tell them the reading strategy: “Pay attention to the key words and topic sentences.” .

3).Careful-reading.
Read each paragraph to answer the questions.

4).Detail- Reading.
Read the article again and complete the mind map in 2c.
【教学设计意图】再次整体把握阅读文章,通过思维导图的形式使学生把握文章脉络,掌握文章结构,为复述课文做准备。
Step4 After-reading.
1).Retelling
Retell the article according to the mind-map in 2c and show it.
【教学设计意图】通过复述任务,检测学生对课文的掌握情况,培养学生的口头输出能力。
2).Writing.
Let students talk about pandas in groups.
(1). What animal is the symbol of China (pandas)
(2). What can they do
Then show the students a chart with the information of pandas. Help them to write something about pandas in groups.
【教学设计意图】通过口头或书面表达,检测学生的语言输出情况,培养学生运用所学知识进行语篇表达的能力。
教师给学生提供更多选择和求助的机会,提高学生参与学习的自主性和积极性,更好地完成本节课的学习目标。
3). Team Work.
Make a poster about saving the wild animals and then show it!
【教学设计意图】通过制作海报的活动,帮助学生加深对本课知识的理解、巩固和应用。
Step 5. Affective education
As we all know, elephants are in great danger. One reason is that people cut down too many trees so they are losing their homes. However, many other animals in the world are in danger, too. So we should try our best to protect them. To Love animals is to love ourselves. Please remember: No trading, no killing.
