1、 教材分析
人教版新目标英语教材，以单元话题为主，与学生的实际生活联系紧密，让学生在轻松愉快的学习氛围中感知英语的真实存在，通过体验，参与合作等方式，实现任务目标。
本节课主要是了解中国及世界地理知识，在Section A的基础上，通过自然文化的对比过渡到动物话题。2a---2e是一个阅读部分。关于大熊猫的一篇报道，主要通过大量的小组活动，理解文章大意。通过归纳联系等方式，进一步提高学生的综合素质能力，培养学生的情感价值观。
2、 学生分析
八年级英语学习已经出现了两极分化现象，部分学生的基础扎实，阅读能力很强，完全能够自己消化掉整片课文；而部分学生基础薄弱，无法自己解决文中的问题。所以，老师在设计课堂任务时，必须注意照顾学生反应，且针对不同学生的学习需求，注意基本核心语言并适当拓展。
3、 教学目标
知识目标：Grasp the new words and phrases:

2. prepare…for… walk into. fall over. take care of. or so. die from. cut down. every two years.
能力目标：在阅读输入过程中提高理解能力，提高语言综合运用能力以及速读，浏览，跳读精读和任务型阅读能力，概括能力，合作能力，书写能力，沟通能力等。
情感目标：了解大熊猫的生存状态，唤起爱心，认识到保护野生动物和我们的生存环境是每个人的责任和义务。
