可数名词的复数形式
规则名词的复数形式:
1. 一般情况下,在名词后直接加-s;teachers, trees......
2. 以-s,-x,-ch, -sh结尾的名词,需加-es;boxes, watches, glasses......
3. 以辅音字母加-y结尾的名词,把y变为i,再加-es;story---stories, country-----countries....
4. 以-o结尾的名词多数情况下直接加-s; radios; videos; zoos; tobaccos......
5. 以-f, -fe结尾的名词多数情况下把f或fe变为v,再加-es; selves, lives, wives, knives, leaves, shelves, wolves, halves......

2.不规则名词的复数形式
①单复同形:deer,sheep,Chinese,means(方式),series(系列),species(物种),fish(表示条数时),Japanese,works(工厂)
②形单意复:people,police,youth,cattle
集体名词有时作单数看待,有时作复数看待。一般来说,视为整体时作单数看,突出它的成员时作复数看。

作主语时,谓语动词的单复数由quantity的单复数决定

根据名词表示的人或事物是否具有生命来确定其所有格的形式
1. ‘s 所有格
(1)’s所有格(多用于有生命的事物或人)

(2)一些表示具体的时间,距离,城镇等的名词也常用’s 所有格
ten minutes’s walk a stone’s throw fifty minutes’ride

2. of所有格(多用于无生命的名词或有定语修饰的有生命的名词)

3. 双重所有格
(1)名词+of+名词所有格

(2)名词+of+名词性物主代词
some books of yours
(3)表部分概念,of前通常有表数量的限制词a, some, one, several, no,few.....

(4)表赞赏或厌恶等感彩时, of前通常有指示代词this, that, these, those

注意:
1.如果某物为两人所共有,则在后一个名词末加’s

1.名词作定语:主要说明所修饰的名词的材料、用途、时间、地点、内容、类别等。
(1)一般用的单数形式,即使是常用复数形式的名词(shoes,trousers)

(2)有些常以复数形式出现的名词作定语时用其复数形式

(3)man/woman +n 变复数时,作定语的man/woman 也要用复数形式

2.作定语的名词一般用单数形式
注意:1man,woman等作定语 时,修饰的名词是复数时,需用复数形式;

2.sale,sport等作定语时,则不管其后名词是单数还是复数,都用复数形式,
