教学思路
本课的教学内容是人教版八年级英语下册第四单元的第四课时,本课主要采用自主学习的方式,培养学生的阅读理解能力,是学生学会运用阅读技巧。将听说读写渗透到阅读教学,实现阅读课文的整体教学。一学生熟悉的话题导入,通过感兴趣的活动开始,激起学生阅读的兴趣,再让学生了解本单元的阅读策略,并在阅读中运用,通过辩论加深学生对文章的理解,最后通过写来巩固学生已学的知识,达到学以致用。

Step 1.Greeting and lead-in
Good afternoon boys and girls! Today I’d like to talk with you about the after-school activities. What after-school activities do you and your classmates usually do Now let’s divide our class into two groups and write down the after-school activities on the blackboard. let’s see which group are the winners.

Step 3 Reading
1. What is the common problem for Chinese and American families
2. Who gives their opinions about the problems
Step 4 Read and circle again, judge T or F.
1. Chinese children have to take so many after-school classes on weekends these days.
2. Cathy Taylor really wants her three children to be successful, so she believes these after-school activities are important for them.
3. Linda Miller thinks parents should send their small kids to all kinds of classes.
4. Linda thinks some parents push their kids too much.
5. Alice thinks kids shouldn’t have time to relax and think for themselves.
