Born in 1930 in Beijing, Yuan Longping studied hard from the time he was a child. In order to tackle处理 food crisis危机, he chose to study agriculture. Yuan Longping made the greatest impact on对...产生巨大影响 China’s agricultural science. His hybrid strains not only feed China, but also the whole world.

Through intense effort不懈努力, Yuan overcame enormous巨大的 technical difficulties to develop培育 the first hybrid rice that could be used for farming in 1974. As far as I am concerned, Wang is a role model with a number of desirable qualities with determination and perseverance being most notable (adj. 显要的, 值得注意的;非常成功的,令人尊敬的). As a determined dream-chaser, she never failed to pursue her dream of becoming an astronaut no matter what challenges lay ahead. More importantly, it was her persistence坚持 in the decade-long arduous(adj艰苦的，困难的) training that made a difference to turning her dream into reality. Such is my space hero that I have the highest respect and admiration for her.

From my perspective, we should have various foods in order to keep fit and energetic, which generally include proper amounts of fish, meat and fruit. Healthy diet is a hot topic among people recently, for diet plays an important role in our daily life. As for me, I have a healthy diet. Firstly, I rarely consume sweet foods, let alone junk food. Secondly, my diet contains quantities of green vegetables and fruits, which can supply/
provide me with necessary vitamins. Thirdly, a modest amount of meat and rich dairy products are also included in my diet. Dear Mum and Dad,
Thank you so much for allowing me to go on this journey! It has been such a wonderful trip so far. Everything is going on well and I am really enjoying the trip!
We started in Vancouver, where we went shopping for gifts and then went hiking. Unfortunately, it rained the first day we were there, but then it became clear after that. Then we took a train to Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies, and then a coach through the Rockies to Jasper. The scenery was spectacular-massive forests and mountains, beautiful blue lakes, and all kinds of animals. We even saw a grizzly bear! From there, we took a long-distance train to Toronto. We were amazed by how empty and wide the Canadian Prairie was. It just stretched on and on, as far as the eye could see.
It has been a great trip, filling us with so many happy memories. We plan on spending about a week here getting rested up from our journey, and then we'll fly home.

Accidents always happen suddenly. One day, Li Ming and I were on our way back to the dormitory after fetching some boiling water from the boiler house when Li Ming's thermos bottle burst and the boiling water caused severe injuries to his feet.
The burn was so severe that the skin was red and swollen.Immediately, I carried him to the water tap nearby and put his feet under the cool running water until his pain lessened.Afterwards, I called a taxi and rushed him to the hospital where he received a further treatment.
Only then was I aware what a big difference a basic knowledge of first aid can make, especially in such a case.

Last Sunday, I went to the park with Tony for a picnic. Unfortunately, Tony's left foot got injured on our way to the park. Luckily, I'd just learned about first aid in our school. So I dialed拨打 120 immediately and performed first aid before the doctor came.
First, I put his left foot in a more comfortable position. Then I rushed to a shop nearby and fetched bags of ice, and carefully applied the ice to the injury. Fifteen minutes later, the swelling seemed to have gone down a little. And I covered the injury with a clean and dry bandage. Ten minutes later, an ambulance arrived and took Tony to the hospital.
Only then was I aware what a difference a basic knowledge of first aid could make , especially in such a case.
