一、过去进行时
(1)概念: 表示过去某一时刻或某段时间内正进行的动作。
(2)构成: was/were + doing sth.
(3)用法: 表示某一时刻正进行的行为, 与特定的过去时间状语连用,常见的时间有: at 8 last night, at that time, at that moment，at the time of the rainstorm 等。
二、when 和 while 引导的时间状语从句：
1. 延续性动词和瞬间性动词
(1) 延续性动词指动作可以延续一段时间, 而不是瞬间结束。如: work、study、drink、eat等。
(2) 瞬间性动词指动作极为短暂，瞬间结束。如: start、begin、die、jump、knock等。
2. when和while 引导的时间状语从句：一般情况下，when引导的时间状语从句主句用过去进行时，从句用一般过去时；while引导的时间状语从句主句用一般过去时，从句用过去进行时，但是若表示两个动作同时发生，则主从句都用过去进行时。

My First Time Traveling Alone
I still remember the first time I traveled alone. Last summer vacation, I went to the summer camp. That was the first time I had left home alone.
