设计思路:本课时教学内容是人教版新目标九年级课本Unit 14, Section B 中的第二课时(2a-2e)。本节课是以“Graduation speech”为主题的一篇阅读课教学。教材内容没有新的语法点,在设计过程中,放弃了传统的三段式(Pre-reading, While-reading和Post-reading)的教学方法。学生先通过Discussion, Listening and Writing等方式熟悉话题,学习生词并大胆通过Speaking和 Writing等方式来表达自己的思想。之后,再阅读文本,了解文章大意。最后,进一步细读文章,了解细节,完成巩固性练习。
课后练习以“My Dream”为主题写一篇短文,旨在提高学生们的综合运用语音能力。
Teaching aims:
1. Students learn to understand and try to use the following words and phrases:
Gentleman, congratulate, thirsty, none, task, ahead, separate, wing, be responsible for, be thirsty for….
2. Students learn to understand the key sentences:
1) Thank you for coming today to attend the graduation ceremony.
2) Never fail to be thankful to the people around you.
3)……learn from your mistakes and never give up.
4) Hope to see you again sometime soon.
3. Through reading, students can identify the text type.
4. Students can finish the tasks given through listening, speaking, reading and writing.
5. Students should learn to appreciate and be thankful to the life and people around them.
Difficulties:
1. How to write thank- you notes properly.
2. The writing for homework “My Dream”.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warm up
1. Enjoy the song. Scarborough Fair.
2. Talk about the topic of graduation.
Step 2 Free talks and listening
1. Students work in groups, talking about their life in junior high school.
2. Students listen and finish the task.
Step 3 Writing
1. Students talk about who they should thank most in their life.
2. Students write thank-you notes.
Step 3 Discussion
1.Discuss their life in senior high school.
2. Think of advice they can give to their friends.
3. Listen and fill in the blanks.
Step 4 Reading
1. Ss Read the passage and answer the question.
2. Match the paragraph to the right meaning.
Step 5 Consolidation
Finish 2c and 2d
