Teaching Aims:
This part is about the directions to some places, so the key words and phrases are some traffic signs, such as: go along, turn left/right, at the first/second crossing. The important point is how to ask the direction ,so I add one sentence ”How can I get to the …”
Teaching Key Points:
1 Students should know how to ask the direction
2 Students should improve their listening and speaking skills.
3 Students should improve their ability of thinking

Teaching Preparation:
Some street and place cards, some traffic signs ,ppt
I also make them sit in group nine, so the classroom will be divided into four streets
Teaching Procedures:
Step1 lead-in
1. Greeting with boys and girls
2. Ask for help
“I lost my wallet .I need your help. Where can I go ”
“if I should go to the police station ,where is it How can I get there ”Then I can lead in the word ”GPS”
(通过寻求学生的帮助,一是能迅速吸引学生的注意力,并让他们进入问路的情境中。二是可以通过GPS的引入,呈现下一步的交通标志的学习。)
Step2 Presentation
1. Present key words about traffic signs
(呈现关键词,让学生提前感知)
2. Play a small game. Ask students to follow the sigs with their head and hands
(头手游戏让学生投入其中,既能寓教于乐,又能加深印象)
3. Show the traffic signs. I will put up a sign and ask them to say what the meaning is. Like “go along First Street, turn left at the first crossing”
(再次巩固,加深印象并且运用到实际之中使接下来的学生指路有例可循。除此之外,学生再次投入到问路的场景中,课堂更真实有效)
4. Practice the traffic signs
I will say ”Look! I am here. I want to get to the police station. How can I get to the police station. I want three GPS ”
Ask them to choose the right sign and the whole class say the sign meaning.
(学生小试身手,初次体会成就感,并为下一步的听力作铺垫)
Step3 Practice
1. Listen and fill in the blanks
“There is one person ,he needs our GPS. Let’s listen to a passage and help him.”
Before they listen ,I will let them read the passage silently and guess which words they can fill.
(听前猜测锻炼学生的听力技巧,降低听力难度,也为下一步的听力作铺垫)
2. Listen and draw the ways
“The direction is missing. Please draw the ways in the picture. ”
Then ask two students to show and say them out.
(画路线会引发学生的兴趣,并且有助于更直观的呈现到学生面前,降低说的难度)
3. Summarize the conversation about how to ask the ways
(问路关键句型的总结呈现既是前两部分学习的成果,又是学生练习对话的模板)
Step4 Consolidate
Have a try. Ask them to make conversations about the direction and location according to the picture.
(图片呈现的是学生周围已熟知的街道和地点,学生感觉亲切,更有情境性。路线的标出是为了更形象具体的呈现,给学生适当的标志线索。最后也提醒学生多注意发掘我们周围的美好。)
Step5 Summary
There is an old saying ”All roads can lead to Rome ”
(引导学生遇到困难,多从不同的方向去思考,肯定会离自己的梦想更近一些)
