Lead-in Revision. Let the students to make a shot English play. Review the plot of the story in last class.
Step 1 Guessing: What will the story happen next Ask the students to imagine what will happen next.
Step 2 Activity 1a. Show Ss some different endings and then ask Ss to choose one they like by talking about the reasons.
Step 3 Activity 1b.Listen and check (√) the things that happened in the rest of the story.
Step 4 Activity 1d.Listen again. Fill the blanks in the paper, pay attention to the listening tips.
Step 5 Ask Ss to listen for a third time and fill in the blanks.
Step 6 Answer the questions:Ask Ss to imagine as the top general, and answer the questions:Will you believe the poor man’s words What do you think of his thoughts about happiness Have a discussion with the partner about your ideas about happiness.
Step 7 Discussion.What is happiness What’s your happiness Ask students to express themselves.
