Step 1. Warming up
Show Ss a video and some pictures. Guide Ss to say what happened that day.
Step 2. Reading Life is full of unexpected.
1. Let Ss read the first paragraph and find the answers to the three questions.
Q1: What time did the writer arrive at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001
Q2: What did the writer decide to do first
Q3: How far away was the coffee place from his office
2. Check the answers.
3. Showing some pictures about the earthquake, let ss talk about them.
Then answer the two questions below.
4. Have ss read the second paragraph and put the sentences in the correct order.
5. Read the passage again and complete the table.
