Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge aims:
(1)New words: bottle, president, inspiration, iron, work, metal, creativity.
(2)Useful expressions: throw away, put sth to good use, pull…down, upside down, bring back
Learn them by reading and finishing reading tasks.
2. Ability aims:
(1)Read the passage and properly guess what it is about according to the title and the pictures.
(2) Can guess the meanings of some words depending on the context and the word formation.
3. Emotional aims:
Learn about the different ways of helping solve the environmental pollution, know what to do and how to do it to protect the environment by reading and finishing reading tasks.
Teaching key and difficult points:
1. Key points:
(1) Learn to use the words and expressions freely by finishing reading exercises.
(2)Learn about the ways of the environment protection and try to take action.
(3) Train students’ reading skills and strategies by reading practice.
2. Difficult point:
Learn about the word formation to get better understanding of the passage.
Teaching aids:
multi-media, PPT etc.
Teaching procedures:
1. Greeting as usual.
2. Warming up.
Show some pictures on PPT and review what we can do to save the earth by
Asking: How can we do to help save the earth
3. Leading in
Show two pictures on PPT and ask: Do you know what they are made of
Then lead into Reading by presenting the picture of turn “waste” into wealth.
4. Pre- reading
2a. Look at the title and the pictures in 2b.
Ask: Can you guess what the passage is about
(How can people think of the creative ways to use the things that are no longer
wanted.)
5. While reading
Fast reading
Read the passage quickly and silently to find the answers.

(4).Deal with 2c.
Students finish 2c for a while.
