教学过程
Step 1 Greetings
Greet the students as usual.
Step 2 Presentation
Show the picture of a local movie theatre and say something about it: comfortable seats, big screens, best sound, cheap, new movies, close to home, buy tickets quickly, popular… Help the students to learn the words.
Step 3 Discussion
Ask: How do you choose which movie theater to go to Write the things in the box under “Important” or “Unimportant”. Students discuss with their partners and write the words in the box in the chart. Then ask some students to report their answers.
Step 4 Listening
Ask students to read the sentences in the chart. Make sure they know the meaning of the sentences. Play the recording for the students to listen and match the statement with the right movie theaters. Play the recording again. Check the answers with the students.
Step 5 Pair work
Let students read the model with a partner. Use the information in the chart of 1b. Ask and answer with a partner. Let some pairs ask and answer about the chart.
Step 6 Listening
2a, Read the questions and answers in 2a. Ask students to remember the information. Play the recording for the students to listen and circle the boy’s answers. Play the recording again to check the answers.
2b, Let students read the sentences below. Explain some main sentences for the students. Make sure they know what to do. Play the recording for the students to write the correct store or radio station next to each statement. Play the recording again to check the answers.
Step 7 Pair work
Student A is the reporter. Student B is the boy. Role-play the conversation. Let students read conversation after the teacher. Explain some main points for the students. Students act the conversation in pairs. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations.
