教学过程
Step 1 Leading in
Show a message to the class. Say, This is an invitation. Call attention to the invitation. Read the message together with stu dents.
Step 2 Pre-task
Work on 3a
Say, There is another invitation from Larry Smith, headmaster of No.9 High School.
1. Ask a student to read it to the class.
2 Call attention to the six questions. Ask students to read the invitation on their own quickly.
3 Students write their answers to these questions on the lines.
4 Ask students to present their answers.
5 Check their answers.
Step 3 While-task
Work on 3b
1. Call attention to 3b. read the instructions to the class.
2. Focus on the left box. Tell students an invitation usually includes the five pieces of information.
3. Writing practice. Students write an invitation to a party or any other event using the words and phrases in the right box.
4. Ask 2 or 3 students to present their writing.
5. Correct the mistakes if there are some in their writing. Make short coments.
Step 4 Post-task
1. Read the instructions for this activity to the class.
2. Read the conversation with a student.
3. Point out student A’s calendar on Page 72 and your calendar on Page 81.
4. Ask students to make their own conversation like the example. As students work, move around the room and monitor.
5. Discuss the answer with the class.
Step 5 Exercise
Work on Self Check
1. Students complete the tasks on their own.
2. Then ask some students to present their answers.
3. Check the answers.
Homework
1. Make your own calendar.
2. Make an invitation.
3. Do the exercises on Page 64 in Students’ book.
