Teaching processes:
Step 1 Lead in
1. Show some beautiful pictures and ask students’ opinion for the pictures.
2. Show some bad pictures and students’ opinion for the pictures.
Teacher ask: (1) What can you see in the pictures.
(2) Do you like them
(3) How do you feel
3. Teacher summary: the earth has been polluted. We must protect our environment and save our earth, at the same time show the title: We’re trying to save the earth!
Step 2 Presentation
1. Ask students: What kinds of pollution do you know Students answer: I think there are... . And then lead students into plete 1a.
2. Show some pictures of environment polluted and let students guess according to some questions: eg. (1) Which pollution is it
(2) What caused it
(3) How should it be solved
3. Show some pictures again. Let the students imitate the example and talk freely in pairs.
Step 3 Listening
1. Before listening,let students look at the chart carefully in 1b.
2. Listen and complete 1b, and then check the answer.
3. Look at the conversation and explain the language points in 1a and 1b.( Explain the language points in small class)
4. Role-play in pairs.
Step 4 Practice
Read the conversation in 1c and make up students’ own conversation and then role-play.
Step 5 Writing
1. Make a proposal on the environment protection.

(3) How should the problem be solved
2. Let one or two students read his/her proposal.
Step 6 Summary
In this class, we have learned the new words “ litter, bottom, fisherman” and use present progressive and modal verbs to describe something. we talk about all kinds of pollution on the earth. It includes noise pollution, air pollution, water pollution,land pollution and light pollution. In order to save our earth,we must protect our environment.At last, Let’s appreciate a song about save the earth.
