Show some dates of the Chinese festivals and ask students to say the festivals. March 12th，May 1st，June 1st，October 1st…
Then present some Western festivals. Practice and prepare the new words for the coming reading.
Step 2 Cooperative inquiry
1．Discuss Christmas. What do you know about Christmas
Ask about the date，the activities and something else about Christmas.

①Read the topic of the passage. Then ask students to scan the passage and underline the proper nouns in the passage.
②Teach these proper nouns and at the same time present the new items in the reading passage.
