It’s difficult because it depends on who you compare yourself to. Most people compare themselves with those around them. Am I happier than my classmates or my friends We also compare ourselves with people we never meet. When we compare so, we may feel sad easily.
People like sad stories. We are interested in other people’s sadness, but we don’t let others know our own. Psychologists(心理学家) find that people don’t feel like telling others when they’re sad or upset, but they will shout if they are happy.
People often show their happiness in public while hiding their sadness.
As the famous thinker Montesquieu(孟德斯鸠) said about 350 years ago:

I am Mike Smith, a doctor from London. I really feel that life in China is changing so quickly. Recently I had a business trip to Tianjin. I left my Beijing apartment and walked half a street to the subway station. About twelve stops later, I reached the high-speed rail station. After two minutes of security (安检), I picked up my ticket, which I had bought on my phone while on the subway. Then I walked to the terminal (终点站) and got on the train. Twenty-eight minutes later, I was in the center of a beautiful city—Tianjin. I could enjoy a nice walk along the riverside towards my hotel. It is amazing that the whole experience took no more than a few hours, with no cars, no airports, no credit cards (信用卡) and no long lines, just my smart phone, only a few US dollars and comfortable walking shoes. In most places in the developed world, there is no experience like this. But China is different.
So in my opinion, if we think highly of China’s modern wonders, I believe its high-speed rail system must be one of them. And it's one symbol of a new China and a sign of China’s strength (实力) as well.

We are excited when we reach our goals, and at that moment we laugh, clap, even are over the moon. Without doubt, good results make us joyful. However,we cannot always get what we want and be the winner all the time. Some people can't help doubting: “Are our efforts in vain?”
The answer is “No”. We should remember that we are not only measured by how many goals we've reached, but how we acted, which means, process is also important.
Here is an example. Fruits are delicious. It takes trees a long time to bear them. In the process of growing, trees have to suffer from bad weather, insect bites and also intentional destructions(故意的破坏)from human beings. So it is with us. Our life is like a journey. At the beginning,we set a goal, dreaming of it every night, but we should never forget that we spend most of our time on the journey. Unfortunately, many people only complain about the failure and then give up hope. In fact,it is the failure that teaches us to be brave and stand on our own.
I myself deeply believe that only those who experienced a lot can own the highly-valued characters, only those who adventured(冒险)can have the chance to succeed. It is said "No pain,no gain." We are still young, still full of energy,so why are we afraid of failure and why do we hesitate(犹豫)to take an adventure?
Young men, let's forget results, leave out pain, and just look forward and don't miss any chance on the journey!
36.Reaching our goal will make us __________.
A.laugh at others B.get over the moon C.set another goal D.forget our effort

61.例文:
When referring to the epidemic, I think of not only the days when I had to stay at home but also the warmth I got from my neighbors.
With the outbreak of Covid-19 months ago, my parents who both work in a hospital went to fight in the frontline, leaving me alone at home. As a ninth grader, I had been prepared to look after myself, but something unexpected really warmed my heart. The next door lady took me a hot meal every night. The granny upstairs put some milk and fruit at the door, giving me no chance to refuse. An unknown neighbor even reminded me to do nucleic acid tests. Thanks to them, I didn’t feel lonely and helpless at all on those days without family.
Although the epidemic broke many things apart, it brought people closer and taught me how to treat others with kindness and warmth.
