教材分析 本篇课文是托尼对自己家乡和祖国的介绍
课时教学目标 Language knowledge 语言知识目标:New and key vocabulary:east, south, west, north, hometown, be famous for, island, area, low, mountain, countryside, umbrella, church, million, coast, region.Key structures:It has a population of........, so it is bigger and busier than....It is never very hot in summer or very cold in winter.Language skills 语言技能目标:To get information about Cambridge, London and Britain2) To master the four compass points.3. Learning strategies 学习策略:1) To learn the reading strategies.2) To learn from each other during the co-operation.Culture awareness文化意识:了解英国,美国等英语国家的主要城市,河流等情况。5. Emotional attitude 情感态度: 培养学生对祖国和家乡的热爱。
教学重点与难点 Teaching key points (教学重点):这篇短文中托尼介绍家乡和祖国的逻辑顺序体现了英语国家典型的思维方式:从小到大,从局部到整体,这与中文中有着较为明显的区别。Teaching difficult points (教学难点):让学生学会如何根据要点,组织语言,写出流畅的文章。

Step 1: Warming-up Look at the pictures and guess which city it is.Do you know something about Cambridge See a video. 通过全班学生一起猜测关于剑桥的图片,让学生们对洛杉矶能有一个感性认知。通过全班同学各抒己见,谈论从刚才的视频中获取的信息,进一步强化学生们对剑桥的认识,为接下来的阅读任务进行一定的铺垫。
Step 2: Fast reading Read the passage quickly and answer questions:How many places are mentioned in the passage Choose a title for the following two pictures 教会学生通过阅读标题掌握文章大意。教会学生通过快速浏览文章,抓住中心点找出每段的段落大意。
Step 3: Careful reading Read the passage one by one paragraph and answer the questions. The teacher shows the questions to the students first. And then ask them to find out the key words in each question.After reading the questions, students read the passage individually. And then find out the answers.Check the answers.Summary. 采用任务型教学法,通过设置问题及练习,引导学生细读文章,让学生对文章有一个细致的了解。细读文章之后,引导学生总结文章的逻辑结构是有小到大,从局部到整体的顺序
Step 4: Practise reading the passage. Read the passage after the video. (If they need, students can follow the video one sentence by one sentence) Students should try to read loudly, correctly, fluently and beautifully. 通过跟读,让学生们对课文有进一步了解,提高语言表达能力,并帮助他们掌握新的生词的发音。
Step 5: Exercise Complete the passage with the words and expressions in the box. The students should finish this activity without reading the passage.Check the answers in class. 学生们学习完这篇课文后的一个小检测。
Step 6: Useful expressions Ask students to work in pairs and underline the expressions in the passage.The teacher shows the useful expressions on the screen and explains some difficult points.Let students read them loudly. 帮助学生理解和掌握课文中的语言点。
Step 7: Writing Pre-writing: discuss the questions in groups and make a dialogue with your group members and write down the answers about your hometown. Compare students’ notes as a class. Write their ideas on the board and allow them to add to their notes if they wish.Ask students to write their short passage. Tell them to use their notes to help them.If students will, choose two or three their writings to show in class. 训练学生使用这节课学过的知识进行一定的书面表达练习。
家庭作业:1. Copy the new words on P137. 2. Copy and practice reading the passage and recite it in two days. 3. Search more information about hometown in the book or on the Internet, write a passage again about your hometown.
