Hi! I am Lucus from Switzerland. I live in a wooden house among snow mountains. And my favourite sports is skiing. One of my Korean friends at school told me that the spring festival is originated from Korea. And Chinese people learned and even “stole” it from them. But I was not very sure, Can you tell me something about it

The Legend
The lunar calendar new year‘s origin is rich and varied, which could be traced to several millenniums ago.
The most famous is "the year beast" fable. "The year beast" is a cruel wild animal. It came out on lunar New Year's Eve and ate people. "The year beast" extremely feared red, flame and loud noise, so the people pasted red paper on the gate, played fireworks and fire crakers to chase "the year beast" away. On the early morning of the next day, they celebrated the victory and rebirth.
