The 2015 Nobel Prizes have been announced. Sweden's Nobel Prize committee said the Nobel Prize for medicine would go to scientists from Ireland, Japan and China. William Campbell from Ireland and Satoshi Omura from Japan shared the prize for their discovery of the drug avcrmectin. The prize for medicine was also going to Tu Youyou. She discovered artemisinin. Artemisinin is a drug that has greatly lowered the number of people who suffer from malaria. The committee said her greatest achievement was that discovery of artemisinin had given the world new ways to fight against two serious diseases. That was why Ms. Tu got the prize. It is said those diseases influence millions of people every year.
Ms. Tu is the chief professor at the China Academy of Traditional Medicine. She is also the first Chinese citizen to be awarded the Nobel Prize in medicine. It took her great and painful effort to make the great discovery. She always tested the medicine by herself and her liver got badly hurt. From 1972 to 2012, Ms. Tu went through about 30 failures before she succeeded. But she never gave up and always fought on.
A member of the Nobel committee said that the award for Tu Youyou is the result of a great change in the way that Chinese do scientific research. He says China has spent a lot of money on this kind of research. This member also said that the work of the three scientists could help end the health risk of diseases affecting 3 billion people.

You know that eating a sensible diet and getting plenty of exercise help make your body healthy and strong. But do you know that there are ways to make your brain healthier and smarter Here are some steps toward a smarter brain.
Limit your TV viewing
(1) Never spend too much time on TV viewing, for it needs very little brain activities. Your brain will become weak just as your muscles do. If you do watch TV, choose something educational and meaningful.
Travel
Travelling to another country forces you to see and do things in a fresh way, bringing stimulation to the brain.
Learn a new language
Learning a new language involves different learning methods. Learning a language sharpens your brain and helps prevent memory problems that you may meet in later years.
Read often
As you read, take the time to look up people or places that aren’t familiar. Reading makes your vocabulary much larger if you always search for words and definitions that you don’t know. Each week, choose an animal, a bird or fish, and read everything you can about it. Stretch your brain as you become an expert on the subject.
Calculate when you shop
As you put things in your grocery cart, total everything in your head. See how close you get to the actual total.
Use your non-dominant hand
If you are right-handed, use your left hand for everyday activities, or use your right hand if you are left-handed. Doing familiar things in a different way will make your brain create new neural networks.
Wechat
(2) Read messages from various people. They have different interests. And some say that learning to express yourself in just 100 words is a great brain challenge.
Have a try and do these every day. Little by little you can get into the habit of challenging your brain, and make your brain smarter!

When you wake up every day, once again to see this beautiful world, when your parents, teachers and friends give you help, will you know how to be (A)grateful And when you feel unlucky and make mistakes, will you still be thankful
Yu Dan, a professor at the Beijing Normal University, made a report about Gratitude Education. It will affect Chinese people, especially the teenagers.
Nowadays, some teenagers only care about things outside. They often behave badly. For example, they fight each other, use phones in class, be rude to their parents and teachers and so on. Most of them don’t know love, respect and gratefulness.
Being grateful or thankful is very important. (B)It is impossible for anyone to be lucky and successful all the time as long as he lives in the world. We should learn how to face failure or bad luck bravely and to try to deal with it. As we know, “Life is a mirror. When you smile in front of it, it will also smile and so will it when you cry to it.” If you are grateful to life, it will bring you shining sunlight. If you always complain about everything, you may own nothing in the end.
I think the teenagers should be grateful to life even when we are unsuccessful or unlucky. We have many reasons for being grateful. For example, being grateful is a way to communicate with adults. And it is a way to sing for our life which comes just from our love and hope.
If each of us has an attitude of being grateful, we’ll lead a better and more beautiful life. So remember, being grateful forever.
