Analysis of the material: Section B 3a~4 include the following parts: a reading material about an invitation; the suggestions about how to make an invitation; the calendars that students can use for their conversation. It provides reading and writing practice using the target language.

Students can know the basic rules of writing an invitation.
Students are able to write an invitation on their own.
Understand the culture in western countries.

Write an e-mail to make an invitation.

Step 1. Warm-up
Play a guessing game: What kind of party or event do we have
Free talk:Students talk about more kinds of parties or events.
Step 2. Presentation

A: ….
B: Sure. That sounds great./ I’d love to. But….
A: I’m glad you can come./
That’s too bad. Maybe another time.
Students read the invitation quickly and answer the two questions:
Who are invited
Who is making the invitation
