导入 Step1 Lead-in I use a video to begin the lesson. The video is about Thanksgiving Day. And they can easily attract the students’s attention. After watching, let students answer the questions about Thanksgiving Day. ( My purpose is to arouse interests at the beginning. ） Today we will learn a passage about Thanksgiving in the United States.
知识讲解 （难点突破） Step2. Pre-Reading Show some sentences that students can’t easily understand. ( My purpose is to prepare for the reading part. ） Step3. While-Reading (Here I use the task-based approach, Task-based learning can get the whole class active in thinking. ) Before the tasks I divide the students into seven groups, so they can have a competition, that will make them more active. 1.Fast Reading: Read the passage and finish the mind map and check the answers. ( My purpose is to make a structure of the passage for students and prepare for writing） (Design purpose : This part is to check whether the students can understand the target language or not) 2.Careful Reading 1.Tell T or F 2. Find the ingredients that people make a turkey dinner. 3. Match 2b and check the answers. 4. Work in groups and tell the steps. For this, I use the communicative approach. (As for the steps , students can use the target language as soon as they learn it)
课堂练习 （难点巩固） Step4.Post-Reading Fill in the blanks and check the answers. ( My purpose is to make a structure of the passage for students and prepare for writing） Step4.Discussion 1. T: Show some special days in China on the big screen. Let Ss say the special food in the special days. In China we have some traditional holidays. Each one has a special meaning in it. So remember to celebrate these holidays with our family and friends each year and don't forget our good traditions. Thanks for everything we have.
