一、教学目标
(一)知识与技能
1. 能正确使用与食物有关的可数名词和不可数名词,如:dumplings, porridge, onions, fish, pancakes等;
2. 能够使用 What would you like 和I’d like ... 句型来询问和回答对食物的喜好,完成在饭店中的点餐活动及叫外卖的活动。
(二)过程与方法
1. 能在教师指导下通过抓关键词句,完成有关叫外卖、填写外卖单的听力任务;
2. 能在教师的指导和小组合作学习的过程中,通过抓关键词和目标语言来完成有关生日食物的阅读任务。
(三)情感、态度与价值观:了解世界上不同国家过生日的独特饮食文化。
二、重点难点
(一)教学重点:巩固would like 以及以what引导的特殊疑问句在点餐中的用法。
(二)教学难点:抓住2b文章的大意和细节信息。
三、教学过程
【导入】Step One: Video Watching and Picture Talking
1. Have the class watch a video about food.
2. Lead the students to review the vocabulary learned in last period by repeating.
3. Show the picture of 1a on the screen.
T: Tom is having his birthday dinner! Look! What food do they have
【讲授】Step Two: Vocabulary Learning
1. Show some pictures about different kinds of food on the screen one by one. Present the new words and lead the students to read them aloud. (onions, dumplings, pancakes, porridge, fish, green tea, some soup, one bowl of soup, some orange juice, a glass of orange juice, some tea, three cups of tea)
2. Have the class work on 1a.
T: Please open your books and turn to page 58. Look at 1a. Match the words with the pictures. Fill in the letters a to i in the right places.
3. Check the answers by leading the students to use sentences to answer. Correct the pronunciation mistakes if there are any.
e.g. Picture “b” is meat.
【活动】Step Three: Group Work
1. Show some pictures as the clue. Ask the students to fill in the blanks and practice speaking in groups.
I like ____, ____ and ____, but I don’ like ____, ____ or ____.
2. Competition: Ask some groups to speak aloud.
3. Show some pictures about different kinds of food on the screen. Present the sample conversation at the same time.
A: What would you like
B: I’d like some…
A: Would you like some…
B: Yes, please. / No, thanks.
Ask a student to make a conversation with the teacher to set an example for the class. Then have the class work in groups to practice.
4. Ask some pairs to show.
【活动】Step Four: Listening
1. T: Now the food isn’t enough. Tom is calling to order some more.
Lead the students to read the questions on the learning paper and get ready for the listeng task.
2. Play the recording of 1c. Then check the answers.
1. What’s the name of the restaurant (C. House of Dumplings)
2. What’s the telephone number of the customer(顾客) (B. 3982845)
3. T: Look at the ORDER FORM on your learning paper. What is an order form What should we write in an order form
4. Play the recording of 1c again and ask the students to fill in ORDER FORM. Then check the answers.
5. Play the recordfing of 1c for the third time. Have the class read it aloud after the tape.
【活动】Step Five: Reading
Before Reading
1. Free talking
T: What do you do or eat on your birthday
Do you have a birthday party
Do you eat birthday cakes/ eggs
Do you go to the movies
Do you have a good time
2. Show the answers of the previewing homework on the screen. Ask the students to check the answers and underline the expressions in the text.
While Reading
1. Skimming
T: Now look at the picture and the title, guess what it talks about
Ss: The article is about birthday food around the world.
T: Where can we get the main idea
Ss: In Para 4 (the last paragraph).
2. Careful reading: ask the students to read the text and work on Activity III on the learning paper individually. Then discuss the answers in groups. Check the answers.

(F) 2. If the birthday person blows out all the candles, the wish will come true. (P_2_ L_4_)

3, Scanning: draw stuendts' attention on the chart on the learning paper. Ask them to work on it by themselves. Then discuss the answers in groups. Check the answers.
After Reading: present the useful expressions on the screen and lead the students to read them aloud and take notes.

They are a symbol of …
They bring good luck to …
People sometimes put a candy in the cake.
The person with the candy is lucky.
There are different kinds of…but the ideas are the same.
【活动】Step Six: Talking
1. Draw the students' attention on the chart about traditional Chinese food in Spring Festival on the learning paper(presetn it on the screen at the same time). Lead the students to use the information in the chart to fill in the blanks.
2. Check the answers and have the class read it aloud.
3. Ask the students to try to retell the short passage. Then ask some stuents to show.

1. Show the following requirement on the screen.

二、熟读并背诵Section B词汇。
三、搜集一份英文菜单。
