Step1 Revision and Lead-in (5mins)● Encourage students to practice the conversations in pairs to ask each others’ names.● Show them some pictures to discuss the children’s names using the third person. Write down the words “his”, “her”, “he”, “she” on the blackboard. Help them to get familiar with the pronouns.Step2. Discussion (6mins) ● Show them some famous persons’ pictures, encourage students to discuss and point out the names using the target language● Encourage them to work in pairs to ask and answer about classmates’ names. Then show their conversations.Step3. 2d Read ,Answer & Role-play(6mins) ● Call attention to the conversation in 2d. Ask them to listen to the tape and read it by Themselves. Then answer questions on the screen.● Ask them to role-play conversation between Linda and Helen in pairs. Have different pairs to show their conversations and vote the best one .Step4. Practice ● Show students some exercises on the screen. Help them to get familiar with sentence structures by translating and filling sentences. ● Show the short forms appeared in the books. Pay attention to writing. Then remind students of “be”. Point out the different forms and using. ●Help students make clear the differences between personal pronouns and possessive pronouns. ● Encourage students to finish the exercises by themselves. Check answers.Step 5. Grammar Focus● Encourage students to read the grammar items together. Then have them copy the sentences and words in their notebooks.Step6. 3a & 3b● Have students put the words in order to make conversations. Ask some of them to write them on the black board or computers. ● Correct mistakes.Step 7.3c Group work ● “practice introducing yourself and others in a group. How many names can you remember ” ●Encourage students to work in groups(4 students in a group) to practice the target language using possessive and personal pronouns.● Show.Step 8. Summary● Help students review the key points of this period.
