Analysis of the Teaching Material
This lesson is the first period of Unit5 in Grade sevenⅠ. After learning Unit 3 Is this your pencil , students have learned how to identify ownership. On the basis of it , students will learn to identify ownership further by using have. Students will learn some words on sports and some descriptive words.
Analysis of the Students
Students in Grade 7 are more interested in learning English. They can cooperate the teacher well . They are willing to take part in the class activity. What’s more ,the topic sports is close to their lives.

Teaching Aims:
Enable students to read and use the words: have, soccer ball, tennis ball, ping-pong ball, volleyball, basketball, bat... and the sentences: Do you have … Yes, I do. I have… No, I don’t. I don’t have…
2. To make the students know how to ask whether others have something or not and how to answer it.
3. To develop the students’ ability of listening, speaking and reading. And make the students love sports, love life.
Key points: kinds of sports, Do you have … Yes, I do. I have… / No, I don’t. I don’t have…
Difficult points: As above .
Teaching aids: PPT
Teaching Procedure:
Step 1:Lead-in
Play a video named Do you have a pet to draw students’ attention.(歌曲导入,创设英语学习氛围,同时也为句型 Do you have。。。?做铺垫)
Step 2: Presentation
Teach students the new words on sports.
(1)Present new words (with PPT)
T: What’s this S: It’s a soccer ball
Read after me, soccer ball,
(Soccer ball, tennis ball, ping-pong ball, volleyball, basketball, bat…) (在已学句型What’s this 中教师教授新单词,激发学生旧知引发学生学习新知的兴趣)
Then students read above words together.(在教师输入单词后,学生通过机械操练单词输出单词)
Next the teacher leads students to do a chain like this : soccer ball, soccer ball, I have a soccer ball(将单词以chain的形式融入到新句型中,一是朗朗上口增加了口头操练单词的趣味性,二是为新句型的输入奠定基础)
(2)Design a game named can you say . Students speak out the words as quickly as they can to compete .(通过游戏环节再次使学生巩固单词)
(3)Match the words with the things in 1a. (单词检测,由部分到个体,由口头练习到书面练习,再次巩固单词)
3.Lead into the new sentences by presenting some pictures.
(1)T:I like sports .I have a soccerball . Do you have a soccer ball
Read the sentences to students. Do you have a soccer ball Yes, I do. I have a soccer ball
No, I don’t. I don’t have a soccer ball (句型引入,教师由自我描述拥有物品到询问学生是否有此物品,再带读学生新句型,输入新句型环节紧扣)
Students repeat the new sentences.(教师输入句型后,学生通过机械操练读句型来输出新句型)
Exercise: Look and say ( students fill in the blanks of the dialogue according to the pictures)(学生通过图片信息来填词,既巩固新单词又巩固新句型)
Then students act the dialogue in group(将句型机械操练转变为学生自己的语言)
(4)Play a game : according to more pictures, students speak out the required sentence one by one.(通过游戏环节,增加活动的多样性及课堂学生思维的活跃性,新句型由前面集体输出到这个环节个体输出,体现了关注全体学生的原则)
Step 3: Practice
The best listener
T:Listen and circle the words you hear. (1b)(书本听力训练,通过圈出所听单词,训练学生的听力,也再次巩固新单词)
You’re great! Now please look at the four items in the list in 1b and read them. I’ll play the record twice. Please listen carefully and circle the words you hear.
T:Listen and Fill in the blanks.(拓展听力训练,通过另一种填关键词,进一步培养学生的听力,要求学生当堂能写出本节课的重点词汇)
2. Do pair works
According to the PPT, the students are required to practice in pairs. And make sentences by using new structure, for example
A:Do you have a... (add the other words)
B: Yes, I do. I have…
No, I don’t. I don’t have… (通过图片展示已学的物品词汇,如map, dictionary,激发学生旧知,从而再次巩固句型,也为后面的Do a report环节做铺垫。)
3.Do a report like this
Hello, everyone. This is my room. I have a map, a schoolbag, a basketball and two soccer balls. But I don’t have a dictionary, a tennis ball or ping-pong bats .(将本节课的重点字词句融入到短小的report中,使学生系统的运用本节课的知识进行输出,训练口语能力,也为后面的书面表达做铺垫)
Step 4: Summary
T:What do we learn from this class (让学生总结本节课的知识,使学生再次巩固本节课内容)
Ask students to make a conclusion on this class.
Next the teacher presents the PPT on conclusion.
Step 5: Homework
1. Write down a short report in your exercise-book.
2. Finish the tasks in the exercise book. (通过书面作业的方式巩固本节课所学知识)
