Chinese traditional operas, such as Peking Opera or Kunqu Opera, are important treasures of Chinese culture. With much hidden cultural, historical and artistic value, they should definitely be studied and passed down. However, many young people seem to show no interest.
Admittedly, most Chinese opera stories are more or less out of style, since they have remained unchanged for ages. Also, the obscure singing and lengthy performance turn most teenagers off.
Personally, integrating innovation into Chinese operas is helpful to revive the centuries-old art form. Theatres could also organize lectures or activities to help younger generations understand the beauty of Chinese operas.
