本课时是外研版第四模块第一单元第一课时，围绕”Thanksgiving is my favourite festival ”这一话题来展开学习，课文内容主要通Simon 和Daming 关于感恩节的谈话，简单地介绍了感恩节的活动内容，让学生试着用英文描述谈论感恩节等西方节日，了解中西方节日的差异，交流自己对节日的爱。本单元主要内容是对美国两个重要节日，感恩节和美国国旗制定纪念日的学习和了解。为下个单元介绍中国传统节日埋下伏笔。方便学生对比中西文化的差异，同时更好理解和学习外国文化。本课教授过程中，充分考虑学生现有基础，关注每个学生的情感，激发他们学习英语兴趣，帮助他们建立学习英语的成就感和自信心。
本课时包括Listen and chant.和Listen, read and act out.两个板块。Listen and chant.该部分引入一个节日，感恩节从而起到了一个导入的作用。Listen, read and act out.板块为大家讲述了Simon在向Daming介绍（美国）国旗制定纪念日和感恩节，那么Simon最喜欢的节日是哪一个呢？一起来读一读吧。
