Many people were getting together in their warm homes. A poor little girl was still walking in the streets with no shoes. There were some matches in her hand. “Matches, matches!” the little cried in a low voice. No one heard her when they were passing by. She didn’t sell any matches and no one gave her a coin. She felt cold and hungry. Lights were shinning from every window. But the little girl was afraid to go home without selling one box of matches, because her father would beat her. “Ah, a burning match may warm me up!”she thought. She lit three matches. When the matches were burning, she saw a warm stove, a delicious roast goose and a beautiful Christmas tree. But all these disappeared when the flames went out. Then she lit a fourth match. A kind old woman was standing there. “Grandmother! ”cried the little girl, “Take me with you.” Her grandmother smiled and held the girl in her arms. On the morning of the new year, the girl was lying against the wall, dead.
教材分析 本次上课内容选用仁爱版初中英语教材八上Unit3 Topic 3 Section C。该单元话题是“My Hobbies”,而本节课的话题是卖火柴的小女孩的童话故事。课型定位为阅读课。旨在通过本节课童话故事的牵引,发展学生的语言综合能力和拓展学生的思维能力。Section C侧重与话题有关的词汇和语言结构的学习,以及话题下的阅读训练。本当堂课的任务是在了解故事情节的基础上,深层次挖掘文本;重点是培养学生的阅读能力和思维能力;难点是在了解故事情节的基础上,究其事情发生的原因,进行深层次的思考。
学情分析 八年级上学生通过一学年多的英语学习,已经具有一定的英语学习能力,但是本人授课班级是实验外国语学校学生,而非自己班学生,所以教师如何创设情景,以情景带动语言,启发和引导学生运用语言,培养学生交际能力尤为重要。故本教学设计采取情景教学、合作探究等对重难点进行突破。
教学设计主要思路 本教学设计是结合教学内容及学生的情况,对Section C部分内容进行整合的一堂阅读课,围绕故事主人公——卖火柴的小女孩来展开教学。其主要步骤如下:读前准备阶段:通过多媒体手段,创设情境,教授部分新词汇,并由圣诞节引入故事,让学生根据图片猜测故事发生地点、涉及人物及情节;读中活动:通过快速阅读抓住故事核心要素:时间、地点、人物、情节;通过精读进一步了解故事,通过对比,让学生感知小女孩的悲惨境遇,在这种情形下,让学生设想女孩此时最想要什么,从而进入文章第二部分的阅读,找出女孩想象的事物,再让学生进一步思考女孩的这些幻想代表什么;读后阶段:让学生发散思维,小组讨论编写故事结局。
教学设计:

I.Learning Objectives Knowledge Objectives: By the end of this class, students will be able to: 1) Understand the meaning of the words: stove, goose, dark, match and disappear… 2) Consolidate and use past continuous tense to describe the actions happening in the past. 2、Ability Objectives: By the end of this class, students will be able to: 1) Improve the abilities of fast reading and intensive reading by various reading tasks. 2) Improve the ability of summarizing the main idea of a passage. 3) Predict the information according to the pictures. 3、Emotional Objectives: By the end of this class, students will be able to: Cultivate students’ sympathy so that they can help people in trouble. Cherish present happy life. II.Focuses and Difficulties Focuses: improve the students’ reading skills and further understanding about the text. Difficulties: summarize the main idea of the passage in a sentence and write the ending in groups.
Step 1 Greeting and Leading in (7 mins )

Create a situation to teach new words. 2. Lead in topic by free talk about Christmas Day. Ss read the new words Talk about what people will do on Christmas Day. Be familiar with the new words and cultivate Ss’ interest in the class.
Step 2 Preparing for reading (2mins)

Show a picture and let Ss guess the content of the story by using “She was doing sth….” Think about the questions and predict them Arouse the interest of Ss Lead in the heroine.
Step 3 While-reading (15 mins)

Fast reading. Ask some questions and lead Ss to get the main idea. Detail reading. 1)Give 4 key words to let Ss find out four details of the passage; 2) Let Ss conclude the girl’s feeling according to the four details. 3) Brain storm: what does the girl want the most 4) Ask Ss to read para 4-5 and answer questions. 5) Make Ss think about the question: “What do her dreams stand for ” Fast reading. Read the passage as quickly as they can and answer the questions; Summarize the main idea in a sentence. Detail reading. 1)Find out the four details of the story according to the 4 key words. 2) Conclude the girl’s feeling according to the four details. 3) Brain storm: what does the girl want the most 4) Read para 4-5 and answer questions. 5) Think about the question: “What do her dreams stand for ” Practice Ss’ reading skills (fast reading,intensive reading ) Broaden their thinking ability.
Step 4 Post reading(15 mins)

Step 5: Homework(1 min)
