什么是状语从句？
1. 在句中作状语的从句
2. 修饰主句的动词，形容词，副词或整个句子
3. 由从属连词引导，可以表示时间、地点、原因、目的、结果、条件、让步、比较和方式。
When my mother came in , I was reading a book .
He didn’t go to school because he felt ill.
I got up early so that I could catch the first bus.
She is so tall that she can touch the top of the shelf.
If it rains tomorrow, we won’t go to the park.

一、时间状从
①当……时系列
We were watching TV when the light went out.
While I was reading, my brother was playing .
The sun shone brightly as we got on the school bus.
when引导的从句谓语动词延续或不延续都可以，主句动作和从句动作同时发生或先后发生；
While引导的从句谓语动词必须延续，主句动作和从句动作同时发生。
as引导的从句，主句动作和从句动作同时发生。
②“前后”系列
I must finish this letter before I go home.
I’ll call him after I get to school.
before表示“在……之前”，表示主句动作在从句之前；
after表示“在……之后”，表示主句动作在从句之后。
③“直到”系列
I will wait here until/till the concert is over.
I will stay here until/till I’m 18 years old.
I didn’t wake up until I heard the alarm clock.
They don’t do their homework until their mother is angry.
主句动词是延续性的，用肯定形式（till/until），译为“直到……为止”
主句动词是非延续性的，用否定形式（not…until）
译为“直到……才”
ps.在句首，常用until
③“其他”系列
I have lived here since I moved here in 1998.
I’ll write to you as soon as I get to Beijing.
Once you begin to read it, you will like it.
since表示“自从……”，从句用一般过去时，主句用现在完成时。
2. as soon as 表示“一……就”，从句动作一发生，主句动作马上就开始。
3. Once表示“一旦…就…”，相当于as soon as.

二、条件状语从句
①讲条件系列

if 表示“如果”
2. unless表示“除非”， 等于“if…not”
3. as long as表示“只要”
②“否则 ·然后”系列
Hurry up, or you ‘ll be late.
Study hard , and you can get a good mark.
or表示“否则”，后加不这么做的后果。
2. and表示“那么”，后加这么做的结果。

三、让步状语从句
①“虽然即使”系列
Though she tried very hard, she failed in the exam.
Lily went to school in time , although she felt sick .
though 和although表示“虽然即使”，不能与but连用。
②加强版“虽然即使”系列
1. I love to eat meat that’s well cooked, even if/though it is a little burnt.
even if 和even though译为“即使”，表示更强语气的让步。
③“不管，无论”系列
1. Whatever you do , don’t miss the show.
= No matter what you do, don’t miss the show.
2. Wherever you go , I’ll stay with you .
= No matter where you go, I’ll stay with you.
特殊疑问词ever=no matter +特殊疑问词
表示“无论……”

五、结果状语从句
①“太……以至于”系列
He is so young that he can’t go to school.
They are such beautiful girls that everyone likes them in the party.
so是副词，后加形容词或副词
such是形容词，后加名词（短语）
so+形容词\副词+that
such+形容词+可数名词复数\不可数名词+that
She is so nice a girl that her teacher likes her very much.
He is such a clever boy that everyone likes him.

because语气最强，表示“因为”，可在句首句中,不能与so连用。
since语气稍弱，表示“既然”， 理由是对方知道的。
as语气最弱，只是附带原因或理由，放在句首。
