I have been teaching in a middle school in China for about 2 months. I teach 15 to 18 year olds, so I try to make my lessons as fun as possible. Most of my students try really hard in lessons and they are enthusiastic (极感兴趣的) about learning English. However, I sometimes have to nudge (推) students who have fallen asleep in the middle of a lesson!
One or two students fall asleep in my class every day. I solve this problem by explaining to my students that if I catch them sleeping then they have to answer a question about the day's learning in front of the class. This has worked very well in my lessons, but I still wanted to know why I had such sleepy students.
This is what I have discovered:
At my school the first lesson of the day starts at 7:30 a.m. and the last lesson does not finish until 9:30 p.m. The students get 10 minutes of free time between each lesson, plus longer break time for their lunch and dinner. During their lunch break at about 1:30 p.m., the school is quiet and the playground is deserted,_because every classroom is full of students who are fast asleep. I also found out that students are expected to attend school on the weekends for extra lessons.
When I was a teenager in London I started school at 8:30 a.m. and finished at 3:30 p.m. every day. I had weekends to myself and had dinner with my family or friends, usually in my own home. Discovering how hard my students work made me more understanding about their accidental naps (打盹) in the classroom!

D.No students want to be punished for sleeping.
10.What does the underlined word “deserted” mean
A.Crowded. B.Wasted.
C.Empty. D.Clean.
11.What did the author discover
A.British students are happier.
B.British students waste a lot of time.
C.Chinese students are short of sleep.
D.Chinese students have better grades.

In Cadiz, you'll hear the sound of the Atlantic, especially if you stay in a hotel situated on the beach, and every morning you'll be woken up by the breaking white waves and the sound of the seagulls.

But we mustn't forget about the parks where orange trees grow at their ease or the bars where you can hear traditional flamenco (弗拉曼柯舞曲) music. They represent the heart of the entire region.

Thought that his answer might be wrong, I carefully puzzled over the problem and tried to work them out in a different way. Half an hour late, I finally managed find its correct answer. Our class are going to visit the Great Wall this Sunday. We'd like to invite you to go with us.
You know, spring is the best time to visit the Great Wall as the weather gets warmer and the trees begin to turn green. So we'll surely get a good view from the Great Wall.
We're setting off from our school at eight in the morning. Then we'll go there by bike. We'd better take some food and water with us. Moreover, plastic bags are necessary as we need to put the rubbish into them. In addition, please take your camera to take photos. If you can come, please let us know.
Looking forward to your reply.
