(10分) WWF has focused its work on six key areas: forests, oceans, freshwater, wildlife, food and climate. In order to challenge the threats (威胁) to nature and help ensure its ability to provide, it works to educate and influence people into making sustainable choices, including those who work in business and make decisions around the use of natural resources, and those who work in government and set policy that impacts (影响) nature.
FOOD
7.3 billion people consume (消耗) 1.6 times what the earth's natural resources can supply. Food doesn't reach everyone who needs it. People waste 1.3 billion tons of food each year. We want to improve how the world grows, transports and consumes food.
CLIMATE
Freshwater supplies are shrinking (减少), agricultural yields are dropping and our forests are burning—all, in part, due to a warming climate. As our natural world changes around us, so does our way of life. We must rethink the way we produce and consume energy, food, and water; and help people prepare for a changing world.
FRESH WATER
It fuels everything from the food you eat, to the cotton you wear, to the energy you depend upon. It is a finite (有限的) resource. Less than 1% of the world's water is fresh and accessible. WWF partners with governments, businesses and communities create a water-secure future.
WILDLIFE
We've seen a surprising 60% decline in the size of populations of mammals, birds, fish, and reptiles in just over 40 years. We also lose thousands of tigers, rhinos and whales. WWF has helped to protect rich and varied ecosystems while ensuring people keep on benefiting from nature.
FORESTS
Expanding agriculture, due to an increased population is responsible for most of the world's deforestation. Small trees, bushes and plants often are damaged or dead; rivers are polluted. By 2020, we must conserve the world's forests to benefit our climate and support human well-being.
OCEANS
After decades of overuse and pollution, hundreds of thousands of sea mammals, seabirds, and sea turtles are captured, along with sharks. Taking better care of our ocean is something we must do together.
But our work is far from done. Working together with 1.1 million supporters, WWF's partners, projects and experts are making a difference in creating a healthy future for our planet.

"The only constant (不变的事) in life is change," Heraclitus said in about 500 B.C. That could be truer today. We live in a world that is changing every minute. Technology is out of date almost by the time you buy it. We get plenty of information every day. Francis Bacon said, "Knowledge is power." In fact, there is more information in a newspaper that he experienced (经历) in his whole life.
Why are we afraid of change That's because our brains want to protect us. After all, who knows what new dangers might appear (出现) However, change is also the only way of development. Nobody can stop it in life. Luckily, our brains become stronger when meeting the unknown. Dealing with (处理) the unexpected needs imagination (想象力) and creativity (创造力). To be more imaginative and creative, you should look for and find environments you have no experience with.
You can learn how to face the changes in daily life. For example, try a new restaurant, or go to a play or a concert you normally wouldn't attend (经常去). Small changes can help you gradually get used to uncertainties So when bigger things happen, you'll be more fully prepared for them.
People who fear (害怕) change often stick to a certain lifestyle. They believe they can control the future by doing so. But changes come whether you ask for it or not. If you can move from just accepting (接受) it to actively finding it out and dealing with it, you will be successful.
(1) The only constant in life is _______________ and it could _______________today.
(2) We are afraid of change because _______________ as nobody knows _______________.

remember to do sth.“记得去做某事(还没做)”;remember doing sth.“记得做过某事(已经做过)”。 所以应该用 remember to do sth.。
【知识点】return、remember to do sth.
be used to doing sth 意思为“习惯于做某事”,used to do sth 意思为“过去常常做某事”后一个空格前面有 be,故正确答案为 C。
【知识点】used to do sth.、be/get used to (doing) sth.
A.Instead,相反地;B.Exactly,精确地;C.Finally,最终地;D.Possibly,可能地。

8. 【答案】A

13. 【答案】D
【知识点】be/get used to (doing) sth.、肯定句
15. 【答案】B
