(10分) You probably know you should say "please" and "thank you" at restaurants. You probably know the rules of a library. You know you should respect and be nice to your classmates. But do you have music manners
Keep It Down! You have to notice the volume of your music. You should not play your music so loud that everyone around you can hear it. Some people might even get angry. Very loud music can also be bad for your ears, so even if you are alone when listening to our MP3 player, you shouldn't have it turned up too high.
Take Them Off! You need to know when to turn your MP3 player off and put it away. Libraries and schools don't allow MP3 players. There are other places, like museums, that don't have rules, but it would be rude to have your MP3 player on.
Take One Out! Once in a while it's okay just to take out one earphone and not other. Imagine you are listening to your MP3 player when someone asks you the way. It would not be rude to take out one earphone, tell him the way, and put back the earphone and continue listening. You can also do this when you order food at a fast-food restaurant or when you answer the telephone and it's not for you.
It's Your Choice! There are times when you need to decide what is best. For example, some people can listen to music on their MP3 players when read books, while others think it is disturbing. In cases like this, you need to do what seems right for you.

(10分) For nearly 250 years, Debrett's has advised the British public on suitable social manners. Now, it has listed modern guide to good manners, answering the questions that most trouble the British public in 2015.
★Using mobile phone in public
More questions are asked about mobile use than any other case. According to Debrett's, it is always rude to pay more attention to a phone than the people around you, and they should always be put away when you're paying for something in a shop. They should be turned off in theatres, cinemas or any space where silence is required.
★Smoking e-cigarettes at work
As electronic cigarettes become more popular, questions about whether they are acceptable in the workplace are asked more often. According to Debrett's, they should never be used in a work environment. Smoking e-cigarettes at work shows that you're not focused on your work and may also have a bad influence on your workmates.
★Giving up your seat on public transport
In a recent university experiment only 20 percent of London tube passengers are willing to give up their seat to people in need. According to Debrett's, passengers should always offer to give up their seat to any person that is pregnant, elderly, or clearly in need. It is important to remember, however, that it is just as impolite to rudely refuse the offer of a seat as it is to not offer a seat.
★Eating before everyone is served
The final question is one that we've all asked ourselves: is it rude to start eating at the table before everyone else has been served According to Debrett's, the simple answer is yes, unless the host or hostess permits dinners to start.

(10分) Table manners are how to behave when you eat a meal. They include how to handle knives, forks and spoons and how to eat in a polite manner. To behave well abroad, you are to know some table manners.
EATING MANNERS
Japan: It is "perfectly" okay to slurp when you eat noodles. Unlike making big noises, slurping slightly is not rude. Japanese also say it tastes better if you slurp.
Russia: Your wrists should be placed on the edge of the table while eating, fork in left hand, and knife in the right. It is not good manners to rest them on your lap. Keep your elbows off the table. Leave some food on your plate to show that the host has given you enough to eat.
France: Never discuss money or religion over dinner. What is different from the manners in Russia is that finishing everything on your plate is considered good manners.
Mexico: Whenever you catch the eye of someone who's eating, even a stranger, it's good manners to say "provecho", which means enjoy. In Mexico, dining is more than a meal. It's a social occasion—lunches are seldom quick and suppers can last for hours. Where you sit matters in the country. Before you get seated, look for place cards, or wait until the host seats you. And you must say "enjoy your meal" before you leave the table.
DRINKING MANNERS
America: If you empty a bottle into someone's glass, it obliges that person to buy the next bottle. It's polite to put the last drops into your own glass.
Australia: In a pub it's usual to buy a round of drinks for everyone in your group. When it's your turn, say "It's my round". When it's their round, they will buy it for you. Don't leave before you've bought a round.

根据第二段第一句“Keep It Down! You have to notice the volume of your music. You should not play your music so loud that everyone around you can hear it. Some people might even get angry.”
根据第四段第一句“Take One Out! Once in a while it's okay just to take out one earphone and not other. Imagine you are listening to your MP3 player when someone asks you the way. It would not be rude to take out one earphone, tell him the way, and put back the earphone and continue listening.”
根据第三段“You need to know when to turn your MP3 player off and put it away. Libraries and schools don't allow MP3 players. There are other places, like museums, that don't have rules, but it would be rude to have your MP3 player on.”
根据第一段最后一句“You know you should respect and be nice to your classmates. But do you have music manners ”可知你知道你应该尊重和善待你的同学。

根据第二段第一句“More questions are asked about mobile use than any other case.” 再根据第三段第一句“As electronic cigarettes become more popular, questions about whether they are acceptable in the workplace are asked more often.” 再根据第四段第一句“In a recent university experiment only 20 per cent of London tube passengers are willing to give up their seat to people in need.” 再根据最后一段第一句“The final question is one that we've all asked ourselves: is it rude to start eating at the table before everyone else has been served ”可知最后一个问题是我们都问过自己的:在其他人都没上桌之前就开始吃饭是不是很粗鲁?
根据第二段“More questions are asked about mobile use than any other case. According to Debrett's, it is always rude to pay more attention to a phone than the people around you, and they should always be put away when you're paying for something in a shop. They should be turned off in theatres, cinemas or any space where silence is required.”
根据第三段“As electronic cigarettes become more popular, questions about whether they are acceptable in the workplace are asked more often. According to Debrett's, they should never be used in a work environment. Smoking e-cigarettes at work shows that you're not focused on your work and may also have a bad influence on your workmates.”
根据最后一段“The final question is one that we've all asked ourselves: is it rude to start eating at the table before everyone else has been served According to Debrett's, the simple answer is yes, unless the host or hostess permits dinners to start.”

Dear Jack,
I'm very glad to hear that you're coming to China for a short stay. I wish you a good time with the help of my advice.
When you visit a Chinese family, it's a good idea to bring a small gift like fruits and flowers. Usually Chinese people will give you a present in return. If so, you must accept it with both hands. Remember not to open it immediately but later. During the Spring Festival, try not to break anything. If you do, say "Suisuipingan" which means "be safe all the time". And you can also greet your friends by saying nice words like "gongxifacai". Besides, don't clean the room on the first day of Chinese New Year. We think it will sweep away good luck.
I hope what I say can help you. Enjoy your stay!
Love from,
Li Hua
