一、教材分析
本单元是《外研社新标准》(三年级起点)第三册的第一个模块第二个单元。本单元的话题是描述所在位置。在第一单元中已经学习过简单的问路和指路的简单方式,此单元为第一单元的拓展。
二、学情分析
学生在三年级上册第八模块第二单元“Where’s the cat ”中学习过对物品位置提问的特殊疑问句,以及方位介词 “in”。在三年级下册第八模块第一单元“It’s on your desk.”中学习过更多的方位介词“in,on, under, behind”。在本册书第一单元中学过简单的问路和指路方式。
三、教学目标
1.知识与技能目标:
能理解并能朗读课文;
能听懂、会说并认读重点句型:It’s up/down the hill. It’s near/at the….
能听懂、会说并认读重点词汇:hill,house,station,train,up,down,near.
2.能力目标:
能正确运用方位介词up,down,near,at.描述所在位置。
四、教学重点、难点
重点:句型 Where is the Train It's up/down the hill./It's near the house./It's at the station.
难点:灵活运用方位介词up,down,near,at,正确使用方位介词简单地描述所在位置。

六、教学步骤

Step1 Warm up (5min) Activity1 Greetings Activity 2 Sing a song Here comes the train. 学生拍手跟唱歌曲,活跃课堂气氛,让学生在短时间内把注意力集中到课堂上。并铺垫train.
Step2 Lead in (5min) Activity1 Review (Present the sign of turn left/right/go straight) Activity 2 Read the picture Q: Where’s Sam 复习turn left/right/go straight为新课做准备。
Step3 Presentation (12min) Activity1 Listen and guess. Q1: What is Tom playing (train) Activity 2 Read the picture Q1: What can you see around the railway Activity3 Listen and answer.(without subtitles) Q1: Where is the train now It’s… Activity4 Watch the video Activity 5 Listen and repeat. 学生通过听过听音,引出火车train. 老师在黑板上画出hill, station, house, railway的简笔画。学生通过读图,引出单词hill, station, house.为之后短语和句子的完整表达搭支架。 引出新知短语 up the hill, down the hill, near the house, at the station. (一边呈现短语, 一边将火车模型在简笔画上进行移动),up/down教学时,结合图画和手势,便于学生理解和记忆。 听录音跟读,强化学生对教材的理解以及对重点短语句型的认读能力。

Activity4 Group-work: Gap-map T makes the model with S1. Activity5 Group work Help Lingling/Daming/Sam/ Amy find their way to destination. 利用黑板上的简笔画,让学生看着黑板上的火车行进过程图,描述行进路线。 将train替换为bus, 巩固课文中四种位置的描述。 以小韵文的形式巩固四种位置的描述,并培养学生的韵律感。 四位学生为一组,彼此手里的地图都不完整,不能互相看对方的地图, 运用句型Excuse me, where is..., please?完善自己地图。 巩固问路指路的交际能力。
Step 5 Summary Activity1 review the key sentence structure and phrases. 归纳总结本节课新知。
Step6 Homework Listen and read the story. Try to describe the way between school and home.
