句型结构:主语+be动词+ a/an+职业名词.
e.g. My mother is a teacher.

Now she uses a computer.
过去,她使用钢笔和纸写书。现在她使用电脑(写书)。
这个句子是用一般现在时和一般过去时来介绍现在与过去不同。in the past为固定短语,意思为“在过去”。作时间状语时,可以放在句首,也可以放在句子的末尾,句子用一般过去时态,谓语动词变为动词的过去式。

(2)could可以作can的过去式,用法同can。
e.g. He could run fast when he was a player.

(3)may主要表示“可能”。
e.g. I may be free tomorrow.
may还可以用在问句中,用来征求他人的同意,意思是“可以”。

(4)might可用作may的过去式,也可以用来代替may,语气更加不肯定一些。
e.g. She might not be at home.

(5)must主要表示“必须;一定要”。
e.g. You must go to see the doctor.
在回答包含must的问句时,若是肯定回答,可用must,若是否定回答,要用needn't或don't have to。
e.g. —Must we leave now

(6)should通常用来表示现在或将来的责任或义务,意思是“应该,应当”,这时它可以和ought to, be supposed to互换使用。
