讲授新课 Talk Time1. Show students an example on expressing feelings.2. Let Ss read the examples on P58 in pairs and remind them to pay attention to the feelings.3. Let students try to make short conversations with the help of the examples and adjectives just learnt.4. Show other examples on the expressions for communicating different feelings.5. Make a summary with Ss on how to express different feelings.Surprise:Have I really won the competition I can’t believe you can run so fast.Bravery:Don’t be afraid. I won’t let these dogs bite you.I’m strong enough to fight the bad man.Boredom:I’ve studied for three hours already. I wish I could watch some TV.What a boring day! I don’t know what to do now.Speak up1. Let students decide on an emergency situation in group four. Follow the example. 2. After the decision, discuss the following questions:If you are going to make a conversation about an emergency situation, which natural disaster would you talk about Where would your emergency situation take place, in your city or somewhere else Who would be in your emergency situation Which hi-tech machines would you have in your emergency situation 3. Let students make a conversation about the emergency. The characters should express different feelings, e.g. bravery, fear and worry. Follow the example. 3. Encourage Ss to show their conversations in class. WritingLead Ss to think: If typhoon attacks our city, what effect will it have on our city destroy housesbring heavy rain and lead to the flood…Pre-writing1. Let students read the short report about a typhoon.
