教材分析 本课的主题是人与社会。 本模块的教学内容是谈论能力的不足。本单元的课文情境是Sam, Amy and Lingling一起看电视，电视里正在播放介绍狗帮助人的节目。主持人介绍了狗帮助盲人、聋人以及帮助消防员救人的事例。看完节目后，Sam 问Ms Smart家里可不可以养狗，Ms Smart遗憾地说不可以，但她给大家端来了晚餐——热狗。Lingling听到这个名字吓了一跳，Sam告诉她热狗只不过是香肠和面包，于是大家都笑了起来。
学情分析 学生们在四年级的时候已经初步学习了can/can’t的用法，在本册上一单元中又巩固运用了can的表达能力，孩子们乐对于自身能力的谈论，对于五年级的孩子们来说本单元的内容难度不大，通过完成本课的教学活动，将在上一单元基础上进一步练习can的用法谈论特长和能力，积极与他人合作，共同完成学习任务。
