Getting enough exercise is also important at difficult times, such as the coronavirus pandemic(冠状病毒大流行). But in areas with stay-at-home orders, exercising outside may not be as simple as it sounds. French officials have banned(禁止) people from taking part in outdoor sports activities between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Michelle Quinn from the US wrote recently about the situation in the San Francisco Bay area. She wrote, “A lot of people went to the parks, playgrounds and beaches…the government had to shut them down. The areas were so crowded, and health officials worried people couldn′t—or wouldn′t—stay 6 feet apart.” Six feet is about two meters.
In some places, going outside for exercise and playing sports on a team were not allowed. So some people began to exercise online. Beth Berglin is from Florida. Before the pandemic, she would have camp-style classes four mornings a week. Later though she couldn′t go out, she stayed active through online exercise classes.
Some fitness companies are changing to meet the new environment. Fitness centers across the United States helped people stay active by offering online exercise classes. Some fitness centers had free classes, some had longer trial periods(试用期), some cut down the price of classes, some offered free products or service. Many of these online exercise classes were made for smaller spaces and did not need any special equipment. One online exercise company named Obe received requests(要求) for children′s classes from parents. So they designed four 10-minute dance and strength(力量) workouts(锻炼) for 10-year-olds and younger.
During the pandemic, getting exercise might be more difficult, but people tried to change their habits and find new ways to exercise in order to keep healthy.

I am Daisy Jones. At about 8:30 this morning, I was walking on Ocean Road when a boy on a bike passed me quickly. The road was empty at that time, so the boy kept riding in the middle.
Suddenly a car appeared. It passed me, then followed the boy for a while. It tried to pass the boy several times but failed. The driver began to sound the horn(鸣笛). However, it seemed that the boy didn’t hear it. He was probably listening to music with earplugs(耳塞)! That was terrible.
Suddenly the car speeded up and passed the boy. Unluckily, it hit the boy. The boy fell off his bike onto the road. But the car did not stop. It continued on its way. I believe the driver knew he had hit the boy because I saw him look back from the window.
The car was quite old. It was a red Ford Escort. But its number plate(车牌)was so dirty that I couldn’t see its number. The driver was a man with long hair. He wasn’t old but I can’t guess his age.
I ran to the boy and found he was badly hurt. So I called the police at once. They soon arrived. The boy was sent to hospital at once. I told a police officer what I had seen. He asked me to make a statement(录口供)at the police station.

What should you do if there is a fire at school Do you know how to protect yourself in a large crowd Every year since 1996, on the last Monday of the last week in March, the National Day of Education on the Safety of Elementary and Middle School Students (全国中小学安全教育日) is held. This year it falls on March 28th. It offers us a chance to learn more about school safety.
A survey shows that the worst accidents are a result of stampedes (踩踏), fires and traffic. When facing an accident, the first and most important rule is to stay calm. But you should have different ways to deal with different accidents.
A stampede happens in a place where there is a large crowd. When students around you begin to push, stand still and try to hold on to something, or stay in a corner until the crowd leaves. If you fall down in a moving crowd, cover your head with both hands to protect yourself. Lean to one side, curl your body and bend your legs.
When there is a fire, you should follow the teachers’ instructions. Leave the classroom and use a piece of cloth to cover your mouth and nose so that you don’t breathe in smoke.
If you walk to school or go by bike, follow traffic rules. Wait for the green traffic light, and look left and right for cars before you cross the road.

Good afternoon, everyone. I’m Wang Hua. It’s a great honor for me to speak here.
A few days ago, I witnessed a big fire. A building caught a big fire. There was heavy smoke from the windows. People screamed in fear and ran in all directions. If we are in a big fire, we should cover our mouth and nose with a wet towel and stay low to the ground. Then try to get out as soon as possible. As students, we should learn to prevent fire in our daily life. Don’t put anything hot into the rubbish bin. Moreover, never play with fire.
That’s all for my speech. Thank you.
