冠词的用法
冠词
冠词是一种虚词，放在名词的前面，帮助说明名词的含义。冠词分
不定冠词(a/an)和
定冠词(the)两种。
不定冠词的用法
1. 用于可数名词的单数形式前，指人或事物的某一种类：
1) A knife is a tool for
cutting with.
2) Mr. Smith is an engineer.
3) France is a European country.
2. 指某人或某物，但不具体说是谁或哪一个。
A man is standing behind the tree.
We work five days a week.
3. 表示“一”这个数量，但数的概念没有one强烈。
They are having an English lesson now.
Everyone has a mouth, a nose, two ears and two eyes.
4. 相当于every或per，表示"每"
The car is running at 50 miles an hour.
5. 用于形容词最高级前，无比较含义。无比较范围. This is a most useful book.
（= This is a very useful book.）
　6. 用于序数词前，表示"再"
Please give me a second chance.
I have failed twice. I want
a third time.
7. 用于某些固定词组中：
1) a few, a little, a lot of, a moment ago
2) have (take)a rest
3)have a walk \\ take a shower
4) in a hurry / in a minute
in a word
5) in a short while / after a while
6) have a cold \\ have a try
定冠词的用法
特指某（些）人或某（些）物：
1).Show me the picture on the desk.
2).Shall we go to the park near our school
2. 指双方都知道的人或物：
--Where are the new books
--They are in the box.
3. 指上文提到的人或物：
There is a river in front of my house.
In the river we can see some fish.
4. 用在世界上独一无二的事物前：
The sun is bigger than the moon.
5. 用在序数词和形容词最高级前：
Go along the street, and take the third turning.
Who is the tallest in your class
6.用于单数名词前表示一类人或事物。
The horse is a useful animal.
7.用于形容词前表示一类人或事物。
The young should respect the old.
8.用于某些专有名词前：江河，海洋，山脉，湖泊，群岛，报纸杂志，巨大建筑，朝 代，时代，组织，机构等。 the Yangtze River \\ the Pacific,
the Tianshan Mountain,
the West Lake,
the Hawaiian Islands,
the People's Daily,

用于姓氏的复数形式前表示一家人。 The Turners are watching TV.
10. 用于乐器前。 The little girl is learning to play the violin.
11. 用在方位名词前。 The island lies to the east of Japan.
12. 用在由普通名词构成的专有名词前：
the Great Wall,
the Palace Museum,
the Children’s Hospital
13. 用在一些习惯用语中：
in the morning/afternoon/evening,
on the left/ right, all the same
at the back/front of the room
不使用冠词的情况（一般情况）
1. 名词前已有做定语用的this, that, my, your, some, any等代词时：
Let’s go to see her new bike.
May I ask you some questions
My book is in that desk.
2. 复数名词表示一类人或事物时：
My sisters are students.
3. 在星期、月份、季节、节日前：
Tomorrow is National Day.
We plant trees in spring.
We don’t have classes on Saturday.
4. 在称呼语或表示头衔的名词前：
Mrs. Wang came in.
That man is Uncle Wang.
5.在三餐、球类，棋类等名词前，不用冠词 。
have breakfast \\lunch\\ dinner
have (my \\ her\\ his --) lunch

6. 在学科名词前不用冠词 。
