情态动词can
can是常见的情态动词，不能独立作谓语，其后需接动词原形。它没有人称和数的变化。can的否定形式为can not, 其缩略形式为can’t/cannot, can’t多用于口语，cannot更加正式。can可表示能力、推测、允许、请求等，本单元主要讲解can表示能力的用法。
语法概述
情态动词（Modal verbs）：表示说话人对动作的态度，比如：需要，可能，意愿，猜测或者怀疑等等。情态动词主要有下列： can (could), may (might), must, need, ought to, dare (dared), shall (should), will (would)
can表“能力”用法
can表示能力时，意为“能；会”。“can+动词原形”表示“（某人）能/会做某事”，其否定形式为“can’t/cannot+动词原形”，表示“（某人）不能/不会做某事”。

句型结构
肯定句 主语 + can + 动词原形 + 其他.
He can play the piano. 他会弹钢琴。
否定句 主语 + can’t/cannot + 动词原形+其他.
He can’t/cannot play the piano. 他不会弹钢琴。
一般疑问句 Can + 主语 + 动词原形 + 其他
肯定回答：Yes, 主语 + can.
否定回答：No, 主语 + can’t.
—Can he play the piano 他会弹钢琴吗？
—Yes, he can. 是的，他会。/No, he can’t. 不，他不会。
特殊疑问句 特殊疑问词 + can + 主语 + 动词原形+其他
What can he do 他会做什么？
can的其他用法：
1. can作为情态动词，可以表示请求或允许 。
Can I use your pencil 我可以用一下你的铅笔吗？
You can sit down.你可以坐下。
注意：表示请求或允许时，在口语中常用OK，sure或certainly等作肯定回答；用sorry等作否定回答。
— Can I borrow your pen, please — Certainly.
2. can也可以用于推测，表示可能性 。常用于否定句和疑问句。此时can't译为“不可能”
