remain是系动词，意为“仍然，依旧，留”，后面可接名词、代词、形容词、介词短语、分词作表语。

search在这里是不及物动词，意为“搜查，调查”。
search for 指“搜寻、搜索某人或物”。search的目的物用for引出，而搜寻的地方常用介词through引出。
He searched for work at various stores. 他在各家商店寻找工作。

【拓展】search for 和look for 都有“寻找”的意思。
search for 则指“搜寻、搜索某人或物”.look for 意为“寻找”，同search for意义大体相同。但search for 意味较强，用很大注意力搜寻。而look for则较为通俗，常用于日常用语。
