Today, Father Christmas is an imaginary figure. Children believe he is a happy old man with a long white beard and a long red robe, who is always ready to help the poor and often gave presents to them. On the night of the twenty-fourth of December every year, Father Christmas from some cold northern land comes down the chimney of the fireplace to put presents by the beds of children or to fill their stockings.

Because the letters did not contain the usual warnings to children that they might not receive their presents if they were not good. Besides, the letters did change as Tolkien’s children got older.

Yes, I would definitely read this book.
From the text, I know that it tells wonderful and interesting stories and keeps the magic of Father Christmas alive.
It is beautifully illustrated and took the author much time and effort, showing lots of love.
Most importantly, we can learn something from it(e.g. the true spirit of giving at Christmas time).
The most special gift that I have got from my parents is my life. My parents give me my life, so I can enjoy this wonderful world.
Encouragement from my parents before important exams. They told me no matter what the results are, I am always their perfect child as long as I have tried my best.
