一、过去进行时
1.定义：过去进行时主要表示在过去某一时刻正
在进行的动作或表示过去某一阶段一直进行的
动作。这一特定的过去时间除有上下文暗示以
外，一般用时间状语来表示，如：then,at that
time,at this time yesterday,at 8:00 yesterday
morning,all night以及when/while从句等。
2.结构：
(1)肯定句：主语+was/were+动词-ing+其他.
eg:We were having supper when the phone
rang.我们正在吃晚饭时电话响了。
(2)否定句：主语十wasn't/weren't十动词-ing+
其他.
eg:I wasn't sleeping at ten o'clock last
night.昨晚10点我没在睡觉
。
(3)疑问句：Was/Were十主语+动词-ing十
其他？
eg:-Were you sleeping at ten o'clock last
night 昨晚10点你在睡觉吗？
一Yes,Iwas./No,I wasn't.是的，我在睡
觉。/不，我没在睡觉。
二、when与while在引导从句时的区别
1.由when引导的状语从句表示时间，说明一个动
作发生时，另一个动作正在进行，也可表示正在
进行某一动作时，另一动作发生了。
eg:The students were drawing pictures when
the teacher came in.当老师进来时，学生们正在
画画。
2.由while引导的从句一般用过去进行时，表示正
在进行某个动作时，发生了另一个动作，这时主
句用一般过去时
eg:While he was reading,the telephone rang.
当他正在看书时，电话铃响了。
3.过去进行时还可以表示两个过去的动作同时进
行，这时可用while来连接两个从句。
eg:I was watching TV while my mother
was
cooking yesterday evening.昨天晚上我母亲做
饭时，我在看电视。
