Students Analysis The students I am teaching to are from Class 2 Grade 1. Before this class, they have learned some English words and English sentences. Therefore, in this class I will use some sentences and words they have learned before to reactive their prior knowledge and help them better understand and master new words.
Teaching Objectives Students can remember and differentiate the words “desk”, “chair”, “blackboard”, “on”, “in”, “under”.
Teaching Difficult and Main points It’s somewhat difficult for students to successfully pronounce the word “blackboard”, and differentiate the words “chair” and desk.
Stage 1 Warm-up
Step 1 Listen to a song Listen to a song “On, In, Under, By”. -【Intention】: Listening to this song aims to help students better remember these words “on, in, under, by” under the guidance of the “TPR” theory.
Stage 2 Presentation
Step 1 Create the context The teacher will create a context in which Lily will introduce her classroom to the whole students. 【Intention】: This step aims to help students understand these words in a context. Step 2 Ask and Answer Students need to answer the question after watching a video. 【Intention】: This step aims to help students be first exposed to the new words by watching a video. Step 3 Present the words Teacher will present the words through many different ways.
Stage 3 Practice
Step 1: Find the angle Students need to watch and find where is angel by using the sentence “The angle is on/in/under the...” 【Intention】: The game will arouse students’ interests to create and use the sentence. Step 2 Listen and act Teacher will ask students to listen and do related actions.
Stage 4 Summary
Step1 : Summarize Students need to retell what they have learned in this lesson. 【Intention】: Help students to summarize and consolidate what they have learned in this lesson.
