三. join v. 参加，加入
1. join 后跟表示“组织”、“团体”、“党派”、“军队”等这样的群体词汇，并成为其中一员；
join the Party/ League/ WTO/ the army/ the music club
入党/入团/加入世贸组织/参军/加入音乐俱乐部
2. join in 后跟表示：“竞赛”、“娱乐”、“游戏”等这样的活动词汇。
3. take part in 后跟表示活动的词汇，可与join in 互换；不同点在于，使用take part in 时，表示参与者以积极的态度加入活动中，并能起到一定的作用。
Jim wants to join us. He wants to join the army.
Lucy joined in the ball game just now.
Yao Ming will take part in the ball game.
4. 易混句型： 如果说"与某人一起做某事"、"和……在一起"则用join sb. in sth./doing sth

1. 表示“擅长于……; 精通……”

五．speak vt. 说（话）；说出

打电话时，习惯用speak; 不用talk。

3. 【辨析】speak, say, talk, tell
speak强调说话的动作、声音，而不强调内容，也表示说某种语言。
say指用语言表达思想，着重指说话的内容。Say to 对…说
say + 一句话：说“……” He says “Nice to meet you.”
say it in + 语言：
用某种语言说某物 How to say it in English 它用英语怎么说？
She said goodbye to all her friends and left.（离开）。
Ben never 从来不forgets 忘记to say “Please” and “Thank you”.
“I’m going out this evening.” she said. 她说：“我今天晚上要出去。”
talk表示两个人或多个人在一起讲话、谈论（多指随意谈论）。
talk to对某人谈话/talk with sb 与某人交谈
talk about sth/sb谈论某人／某事

tell的意思是“告诉，讲述，吩咐”，讲故事或讲笑话多用tell。

六．tell
1. “告诉”并常与story连用，意为“讲故事”。
When I was young, my mother often told me a story in the evening.
在我小时，妈妈晚上常给我讲故事。
Please tell me something about yourself. 请和我讲讲你自己的情况。
2. tell: “告诉”，除较少情况外，一般后面总接双宾语。如：
He’s telling me a story.
3. tell sb. to do sth. tell sb. not to do sth.
Miss Zhao often tells us to study hard.
七. or conj. 或，或者
1. 用于选择疑问句,是提出两种或两种以上的答案,供对方选择。
Is that hat red or blue？那顶帽子红的还是蓝的？
Is that a boy or a girl？那个是哪还还是女孩？
2. and与or都可用来连接并列的句子成份, 但and一般用于肯定句, 而or 用于疑问句或否定句。
I like action movies and comedies. She doesn’t like singing or dancing.
八．1. want sb. /sth. for … ……（地方）需要……；……（地方）缺乏……

一．“能”说“会”道的can?
【can的才艺展示】?
1.表示能力，通常指在体力或脑力方面的能力，意为“能；会”。如：?He can speak English.
2.表示许可，意为“可以”，这时可以和may通用，但是比may较正式。如：?Can I use your pen
3.表示可能性，意为“可能”，这时常出现在否定句中。如：?It can’t be true.这不可能是真的。?
4.表示提供帮助。如：?Can you help me 你可以帮助我吗？?
【can的个性展示】?
1.与动词原形“形影不离”?在句中，can不能独立作谓语，必须与动词原形共同充当句子的谓语。?
2.没有人称和数的变化?当can与动词一起作句子的谓语时，无论主语是第几人称或单数、复数形式，can仍然保持自己的风格，不会发生任何变化。?
【can的句式表演】?
1.肯定句：主语+can+动词原形+其他。如：?Mary can play the drums.
2.否定句：主语+can’t+动词原形+其他。如：?He can’t play the piano.?
3.一般疑问句：Can+主语+动词原形+其他？肯定答语：Yes,主语+can.否定答语：No,主?语+?can’t.如：?
—Can you play chess 你会下象棋吗？?—Yes,I can.是的，我会。（肯定回答）?
—No,I can’t.不，我不会。（否定回答）?
4.特殊疑问句：疑问词+can+主语+动词原形+其?他？如：??What can I do for you 我能为你做点什么呢？
can的用法歌诀
can可用来表能力，但与实动不分离。 不管主语何变换，can的模样永不变。
只要句中出现can，动词原形后面站。 一般疑问can提前，否定can后not添。
二．巧记不用冠词的几种情况：
下列情况不用冠，名词之前代词限。 复数名词表泛指，球类学科和三餐。
专有名词不可数，星期月份季节前。 交通手段和节日，习语称谓和头衔。
三． Too, also, either
1. too 用在肯定句、疑问句句尾，too前有逗号 2. either 用在否定句句尾，either前有逗号
3. also 用于肯定句，位置是行前be,情态动词must, can…后, 行为动词前。
4. too 另一个含义“太”，后接形容词副词 too big 太大了 too slowly 太慢了
五． 英语中的“so”
(1)因此，所以：连词，连接2个句子，构成因果关系，但不能because一起用。
(2)这样，如此：副词，可以修饰形容词、副词；口语中常和“think”, ”hope”等连用
It is late, so let’s go home.= Let’s go home______________________________.
It’s so cold. 天太冷了。 I think so. 我认为如此。 I hope so. 我希望如此
六．1. and 和 or
He ate two apples ____ a orange. He didn’t ate two apples _____ a orange.
含有and的句子变成疑问或否定句时，and要改写成or
2. with 表示“伴随”、“与…一起” (2)and 表示“和…一起”
Tom and Jim ____ to school everyday.
Tom with Jim _____ to school everyday. =Tom _____ to school with Jim everyday.
把and看成“加法”，with看成“减法”，句子中谓语动词填“原形”还是“单三”，要看人称到底是多少。
