walls! They make the hall look wonderful.

Betty: Pardon?Oh, yes, but it’s a bit noisy.
Lingling: Do you intend to stay in China for long, Tony
Tony: I hope so. And even if I go back to the UK, I’ll

只接动词不定式的动词:
hope, wish, desire, agree, promise 三个希望两答应;demand,ask,refuse 两个要求莫拒绝;
manage,learn,decide 设法学会作决定;
pretend,choose 不要假装在选择。

beat 充 当 beat 的 宾 语 的 是 比 赛、 竞 争 的 对 手, 即 指 人 或 球 队 的 名 词 或 代 词。 We beat the strongest team in the football match this time.

defeat 本来用于描述战争中打败敌人,现在可与beat换用,以表示击败对手。 He was badly defeated/beaten in the election.

fetch /fet / v. (去)取来;拿来
eg:She went upstairs to fetch her handbag.

fetch “(去)拿来”,指从说话的地方到其他地方,再回到说话的地方。
eg: Please go and fetch some milk. 请去拿些牛奶来。
take “带走;拿走”,指拿到或带到别处去,不是说话人所在的地方。
eg: Jim, take your old books away. 吉姆,把你的旧书拿走。
bring “带来;拿来”,指拿到或带到说话人所在的地方。
eg: Please bring me my pen. 请把钢笔给我拿来。
carry “搬;扛;提”,表示携带的动作,不说明方向。
eg: The young man helped the old man carry the box.
