This morning, Angela Suarez got an e-mail from James. When she saw the photo of the lovely African (非洲的) boy, she smiled. Two years ago, Ms. Suarez joined a group called Infinite Family. It uses the Internet to get in touch with (与……联系) some African orphans (孤儿) and American families. It asks the American families to spend 1—2 hours a week with the children. It also asks them for $ 40 a month to help the children.
James was 14 when Ms. Suarez met him for the first time. He was shy and poor at all the subjects at school. At the beginning, Ms. Suarez didn’t know how she could help James, but she didn’t give up. She talked with James for 30 minutes a week. She sent James some delicious food every month. She told James many interesting things in her country. Slowly, the boy changed. He began to tell her his dreams and sent her e-mails every month. He began to work harder at school.
