Beijing, China (CNN) - Driving in China is dangerous because many drivers tend to ignore traffic rules. In 2011, it was reported that 2 million road accidents happened in China, which led to more than 62,000 deaths, according to the Ministry of Transportation. Despite all the punishments to violators (违反者), many drivers often ignore traffic rules while driving.
The new traffic rules took effect nationwide on Tuesday, the start of the New Year. They include heavier punishments for drunk driving, talking on the phone while driving, as well as running red or yellow lights.
Each violation means the deduction (扣除) of points from a driver's license, and the deduction of 12 points results in the suspension (停用) of a driver's license. To get it back, the driver must attend a seven-day class of traffic rules and take a test.
Many drivers thumb down the tougher rules, especially the one that considers a yellow traffic light the same as a red light. Running them twice within a year can now result in the suspension of a license.
"If a yellow light equals a red light, we even don't need green lights any more. On and off of one light can do the work," @YujianShouQing posted.
A poll on the Internet shows 13,000 users, or 84%, of netizens consider the new rules unacceptable.
According to local newspapers, the first traffic ticket for running a yellow light was issued on Tuesday in Chengdu, a city in Southwest China. Other cities like Shenzhen do not plan to punish drivers who run yellow lights for now.

One of the most common complaints about apartment-dwellers (居民) is annoying neighbors. Here are some ways to deal with noisy neighbors.
Accept Some Degree of Apartment Noise
Before getting worked up over the noisy neighbors in the apartment, make sure that you have realistic expectations. Everyone living in an apartment building is bound to hear noise from others' televisions, music and children occasionally.
Get Noisy Neighbors to Realize They Have Bothered You
It's probably the case that the neighbor who is driving everyone crazy doesn't realize how far his noise is carrying. Remember that the noise level is difficult to control with children. Babies inevitably (不可避免地) cry in the middle of the night.
Meet the Neighbors and Be Friendly
Making a friendly gesture will surprisingly reduce apartment noise. Neighbors who know each other will probably be much more careful not to bother each other.
Address Noise Calmly and Face to Face
If a loud noise needs to be addressed, go to the offending apartment personally and knock politely on the door. Being polite will usually bring a polite response (反应).
Report Noisy Neighbors to the Landlord
If a noise issue becomes a problem or doesn't improve after a personal request, it's time to bring it up to management. Make sure of being objective and fair in your report, and be able to cite the frequency of the problem and provide details about it.
Things to Avoid when Dealing with a Loud Neighbor
There are some definite "don'ts" when it comes to handling life with a loud apartment neighbor. Don't
* Seek revenge (报复) or try to "outdo" a noisy neighbor."
* Complain to them face to face repeatedly about the same issue.
* Suffer in silence.
Doing these things may work for some time, but they're never good long-term solutions. Instead, they will probably only exacerbate the situation.

Does your child struggle in school? Is he or she afraid of reading out loud, writing an essay, or working out a math problem? While every kid has trouble with homework from time to time, if a certain area of learning keeps going wrong, it might show a learning disorder. Learning disorders, or learning disabilities, are a general term for a wide variety of learning problems.
A learning disability is not a problem with IQ or motivation (动机). Kids with learning disabilities aren't lazy or slow. In fact, most are just as smart as everyone else. Their brains are just wired differently. Simply put, children adults with learning disabilities see, hear, and understand things differently. This difference affects how they receive and process (处理) information. This can lead to trouble in learning new information and skills, and putting them to use.
It can be tough to face the possibility that your child has a learning disorder. No parents want to see their children suffer. You may wonder what it could mean for your child's future, or worry about how your kid will make it through school. But the important thing to remember is that most kids with learning disabilities are just as smart as everyone else. They just need to be taught in ways that suit their unique learning styles.

One child may struggle with reading and spelling, while another loves books but can't understand math. 读写任务 (One possible version)
Marie worked hard at university and earned two master’s degrees altogether. After that, she worked hard in the field of science and won two Nobel Prizes and lots of other honors in her life.
As we all know, Madame Curie was very successful in her work and more successful than most men in the world. We can clearly find that her success resulted from two sides. One is the rich knowledge she received at school, which provided her with a strong foundation for her research. And the other is her hard work through her lifetime. I don’t think she would win such success in her work without these two things.
This text reminds us that women can also become successful in their work and life.
Besides, if we want to be successful in life, we must learn as much knowledge as possible when we are young. The most important is that we must work hard if we want to be successful in life no matter you are male or female.
