四、阅读判断
Recently a new lifestyle called low carbon (碳) life is spreading every corner of our country. The meanings of low carbon are low energy and no waste. It is so important a project that I can’t wait to express my ideas on how to promote (推动) it.
First, we should set up a no-car day every week in our school. Because cars not only bring serious air pollution but also waste energy. On the no-car day, neither students nor teachers are allowed to drive to school, just walk or run. Use our legs and enjoy the fun.
Second, we had better not use plastic bags. No one can stand the “white pollution”, so it is wise to use cloth bags which can be used again and again.
Finally, one thing that we should remember is that every big thing comes from small details (细节). So, as students, we should turn off the lights the moment we leave, use both sides of paper, and reuse our textbooks and so on.
All in all, it weighs greatly for all of us to put the low carbon lifestyle into practice. Just set our mind to these: no-car days, no plastic bags, and no waste. Let’s do it now.
根据文章内容,判断句子的正 (T) 误 (F) (每小题1分,共5分)

五、阅读回答问题
More than 50,000,000 people live in the rainforests of the world and most of them do not hurt the forest they live in. They eat the fruits that grow on the forest trees, but they do not cut them down. They kill some animals to eat, but they do not destroy them.
When we cut down the rainforests, we destroy these forest people, too. In 1900, there were 1,000,000 forest people in the Amazon forest. In 1980, there were only 200,000.
The Yanomami people live along the rivers of the rainforest in the north of Brazil. They have lived in the rainforest for about 10,000 years and they use more than 2,000 different plants for food and for medicine. But in 1988, someone found gold in their forest, and suddenly 45,000 people came to the forest and began looking for gold. They cut down the forest to make roads. They made more than a hundred airports. The Yanomami lost land and food. Many died because new diseases came to the forest with the strangers.
The Yanomami people tried to save their forest, because it was their home. But the people who wanted gold were stronger.
Many forest people try to save their forests. Chico Mendes was famous in Brazil because he wanted to keep the forest for his people. In December 1988, people who wanted to cut down the forest killed Chico Mendes.
As time goes by, the problem still exists. We must do something to keep the rainforests now!

Let’s Be Friends of the Earth
The earth is the only place for people to live. If we don’t protect the land, there will be no land to grow crops. If we don’t protect the sea, we’ll get nothing from it in the future—no fish or other sea food. So we must be friendly to the earth.
We should protect the air, the water and all the animals and plants around the earth. We should also use less paper and plastic bags. Besides, we should take public transportation instead of private cars.
Only when we take the earth as our friend, will it provide good conditions for us to live. So let’s be friends of the earth.
